Moments later, Nadia approached Yvette who was sitting in a quiet corner, her expression now painted with a fake smile. "Congratulations Yvette. You look so stunning today and I didn't even knew you could dance so well" She said sweetly. "You were magnificent out there."
Yvette kept her expression neutral, sensing the undercurrent of malice behind her words. "Thank you," She replied, her voice polite but distant.
"C'mon, let's get some drinks and celebrate". Nadia smiled as she signalled to a waiter passing by.
The waiter approached with two glasses of wine, placing them on the table between them, his actions subtle but deliberate.
Yvette heart raced as she smiled inwardly. She could already tell what was coming and what Nadia was playing at.
She had been in this industry long enough to recognize a trap when she saw one. Gone was the guilible girl from the past.
"To celebrate". Nadia smiled, lifting one of the glasses.
