Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Kuoh Academy

~Josuke Tojo~

I was now in a rush for some reason. Apparently, my previous self, did not want to be late to avoid, and I quote, "The wrath of the student council president." Apparently, the president was a girl named Sona Shitori, and me and her had no relationship whatsoever other than the one time I had come in late and was forced to help with the student council. So much work...

Due to the memory, I decided I would not be late, if just to avoid doing more work. Actually, I wonder... Calling forth my stand, I overlaid it with myself, enhancing my physical abilities as I immediately felt a difference, sure the stand wasn't for speed, but just this enhancement helped quite a bit as I was now running at around 50 mph, and I really wasn't trying too hard either, but this was good enough.

Within another minute I had approached the academy before abruptly stopping, leaving tracks in the sidewalk as I stopped because of the obstacle in my path. "Tojo-kun."

"Hey, Sona..." I found myself saying off instinct, didn't people use someone's first name if they were only close? Well, judging by the look she was now giving me from behind her glasses, I think I was right. "Shitori-san," She looks slightly less annoyed, seems I was right. "If I could just pass by that would be great."

"You're late." She spoke in a matter-of-fact tone, making me sigh and rub my neck. "Okay but in my defense, it's only been a few minutes. Besides, you saw I was running, didn't you?" Looking at her, I realized that she was staring at me but also wasn't, it was not that she was unfocused but rather she was focused on something else... Shit!

I realized I hadn't called back my stand, yet she already saw it, so I just did it very slowly, watching her reaction all the way until King Crimson finally disappeared completely. "You are lucky that normal humans cannot perceive that... summon. But you should be more careful." She spoke, making me nod as I heard the bell ring for the first class, making me sigh.

"I understand, just... Can you not punish me? I really don't want to do your work again." Staring at her, I saw her lips curl up slightly into an amused smile. Oh no.

"Come to the Student Council room after class." Damnit well I can't do anything about that now. Walking past her, I waved while walking. "Fine, see you later, Sona."

"We aren't that close, Tojo-kun."

"I'm doing your work, we're close enough." I replied, looking over my shoulder as I couldn't help but smile lightly. "Besides, call me JoJo." Leaving her with that, I fully focused on heading to class and totally did not plan on skipping her summon at all. Why would I?

--------------------

Once the bell had rung for my class to end, I let out a sigh before exiting and completely ignoring Sona's summon as I began making my way to the roof of the school, which by the way, was huge. Seriously, this was the cleanest, and most well-funded school I had ever laid eyes on, decorations everywhere, shiny floors, it was surprising considering what I was used to.

As I ascended the first step, I heard someone clear their throat from behind me, making me freeze as I slowly turned around to find someone I recognized. "JoJo."

"Sona." She seemed both annoyed and amused at my attempt as she pushed up her glasses. "Where do you think you're running off to?"

"Oh nowhere, I was just looking for the student council room." I lied as easily as I breathed, my expression not faltering for even a moment as Sona just sighed and grabbed my hand. "We are already on the third floor, please do not joke around today, JoJo." As I was dragged by Sona towards the student council room, I heard a few gossiping students.

"No way, JoJo and Sona?" "She's grabbing his hand, how lewd!" "Are those two really dating?" I've interacted with this woman just three times, please don't spread rumors. Glancing over at Sona, she had a small, very faint hint of blush covering her cheeks. Huh, guess even the stern Sona can be embarrassed.

Once we reached the room, I was promptly shoved into a seat at the table to my right. The room was nice, a large window at the back with the main desk in front of it, two tables across from each other with 2 seats each, and the room was filled with bookshelves containing many different books.

What knocked me out of my thoughts was a stack of papers being slammed onto the table, making me look at the inhumanely large stack, it was over my head! "Since you were late, you will help me go through all these forms."

"Did I ever say I wanted to be part of the student council?" I asked as I stared at her with a blank look. "No, but Tsubaki told me you would be a good fit. Want to join?" She asked with an almost smug look, both annoying me and confusing me. Annoying because she had no right looking so damn cute when she was this smug, and confusing because wasn't she stern? Highly strict? Why was she so... playful with me?

"Tsubaki did?" I asked, looking at the bespectacled woman before I remembered one of the things Tsubaki had said when past Josuke summoned her. 'I am a devil of the Sitri household, to who summoned me, what is your wish?'

'Shitori... Sitri... If devils are real, then that would mean so was Ars Goetia. Then...'

"Sona, are you the devil that Tsubaki serves?" Staring at her, she nodded as she crossed her arms over her chest, pushing up her sizeable chest. "You are correct, Tojo-kun.'

Grabbing the hem of her skirt, she did a small introductory bow as her violet eyes stared at me. "My name is Sona Sitri, the next head of the Sitri family." As she stood up straight, I held my chin with my hand as I looked at her.

"Guess I was right, that aside, why would you want me to join the student council?" My guess is that the student council is closer to a cover for her band of devils, but since she saw King Crimson, I can make a rough guess as to why.

"You have potential, not only do you seem to have a talent for demonic energy despite being a human, but you also have a sacred gear that is unlike one I've ever even heard of." Listening to her explanation, my face betrayed nothing while I began thinking.

One, she was able to sense my "talent" for demonic energy, whether I have that energy for whatever reason or not, she can sense that. Two, she used the words sacred gear. I have no idea what that is, but it seems like that's what she believes King Crimson to be. "So, what exactly is a sacred gear?"

Once I asked, Sona seemed to be confused that I didn't know but she still explained, apparently, sacred gears were gifts bestowed to humans by God, like the actual Big G. They came in different types and had different specializations, attack, defense, recovery, hell some have even manipulated time to some extent.

What Sona was rather confused about was how I wasn't tired after using King Crimson. The stand resembled a sacred gear type named: Independent Avatar. These sacred gears took the form of a living being and would either use the surrounding energy or the user's own energy to take their form. Problem was that most users were physically weak with these sacred gears and were typically more vulnerable and while she could assume I was special, the fact was that it took no energy to make King Crimson, or rather it took so little energy that it was negligent.

"Okay, I get the gist of things, but back to your offer, could you elaborate a bit more?"

She smiled, holding out her hand as if sure I would accept. "Become a devil for me, JoJo."

Eh?

———————————-

Will Josuke become a devil? Will he reject? Will I ever become consistent? No. But I'll try.

If you want to support me, follow my twitch: shadow__vipex. Thought I was going to plug a paid site huh? Nah, I'm not consistent like that so it would be a scam if I did. I stream games, mostly Fortnite, just trying to hit affiliate so I can make money off that and be able to actually branch out with better content and quality.
