--A Couple Days Later--
Kaiser woke up with a mind-shattering headache.
"Please don't move yet child." A middle-aged man said slightly annoyed, but also relieved.
Ignoring the warning, he sat up.
Pain radiated from his abdomen. It was so bad it was pulsating. Each beat brought him closer to tears, but he resisted.
Though he did immediately lay back down.
"I warned you. Your wounds aren't fully healed yet."
Once again ignoring the man, he looked around him.
'Fancy room and someone with there hands close to me is sweating so much. What are they doing?'
He felt that something had to of been taking place, but he couldn't tell.
The man started talking yet again, "You know, you're lucky to even be alive."
"Alive," Kaiser muttered.
He began remembering what happened. His heart beat sped up and he started breathing harsher. His head spun around, images popping up over and over.
"No, No, No, that couldn't of happened. There's no way."
He began thinking faster every second. Each thought more vivid than the last.
His dad lost his legs and died.
His best friend was killed by him.
His village ruined beyond redemption.
"I killed. I killed him?"
He didn't understand.
"Why did I do that?"
He may of survived, but this nightmare would never leave. It was ingrained within his being.
At some point, the man next to him left. Either because he thought the kid was crazy or he took being ignored personally.
Kaiser took a deep breath and became depressed. Insanity not taking over.
"Do I even deserve to live?"
Suddenly, an old man with the white beard walked in.
"Of course you do. Your mother would want you to at least."
Kaiser looked at the older guy. He had a kind expression, the one a grandfather would give his grandchild.
"My mother died giving birth to me. How would she know?" Kaiser said, not even even giving it a chance.
"I see." The old man pondered.
"It would appear you don't know all the facts young child."
Kaiser was a little surprised. He was debating suicide yet this old man kept talking about his dead mother.
Where was the consideration?
"That ring of yours," the old man started.
"It was your mother's or at least it has ur mana on it."
Kaiser remembered his dad saying it was an heirloom of his mother's.
'Is it not actually an heirloom but a personal item?'
As he looked at the ring with sadness, words popped within his vision.
[ Sarah's Lost Weapon ]
Owner: Kaiser Fael
Rank: 10th star
Evolution(warped): 1/50
Skills: Insanity Breaker(passive)
Owner Buffs: Enhanced Learning
He was thoroughly surprised. His eyes showing a something little more than before. Hope.
He read it skeptically though.
'This was my mother's weapon? And what does any of this actually mean. Rank? Skills?'
He swiped at the words and they disappeared.
'Is this a scam?'
The Branch Head was hurt, the healer before said the boy tended to give a cold shoulder, but he thought he'd be different.
The boy had also been acting strangely staring into space while having different emotions appear and then he just hit the air.
'What is wrong with this kid of yours Sarah?'
"What's your name kiddo?"
Kaiser was still lost in thought.
'It doesn't make sense for me to be special in any way, but the weapon can transform so perhaps this is some inhuman power. How are they related though?'
He then realized the old man had asked a question, but when he looked up, he was just waiting patiently.
Feeling slightly embarrassed, he answered quickly, "Uh, Kaiser."
"Well, Kaiser, would you like to hear about your mother or tell me what happened to you?"
"My mother. Please." He said, starting to gain more confidence.
Ignoring his emotions and grabbing onto hope. He would never recover from the trauma, but if he could hold onto something. That would be enough.
The Branch Head wasn't surprised.
"Very well. Since it's come to this, I'm sure your mother won't be too mad."
Kaiser started to feel like he'd been lied to his whole life.
"Your mother is alive. I'm not sure where she is or what she's doing, but she was alive when you were born. Her power also hasn't left your ring."
He paused letting the information sink in.
"Therefore, whatever has happened to you or whatever you plan on doing. Find her and have a talk with her."
Kaiser was silent.
He always dreamed of seeing his mother, but it was just that. A dream.
However, it was now possible to have a conversation with her?
He had family still alive?
'It would be wrong for me to give up wouldn't it?'
He immediately went into deep thought.
Finding his mother should be his priority.
A family member to share his pain with and a mother whom he desperately wanted his entire life.
The old man spoke again seeing Kaiser reach his conclusion.
"I want to show you something child. You are part of this family, so you have the right to see this."
Kaiser was stumped.
While this old man seemed to know his mother, calling him part of this family. Wasn't that excessive?
Seeing that, the old man waved his hand once again and Kaiser was now floating, following behind him.
"I forgot you don't know anything. You are a Fael and this is the Fael Branch Estate. You are actually a direct descendent of the main family, but that means nothing right now as no one but me and a few others know of your existence."
Kaiser remained silent while being floated down the fancy hallway. He was listening but also taking in the scenery.
The technology in this place was much more sophisticated than Paisan Village.
The walls were a finely treated wood he'd never seen before. They were designed in an artistic way so that no spot was barren.
Occasionally a door or a painting of a powerful looking person would show up.
He didn't care too much about those though.
They reached a set of tall doors and went outside. It was a large open beautifully taken care of field. There was a path leading to a crossway which allowed passage to the Estates buildings.
They continued onward heading inside the main estate and down a few corridors.
'They must be rich. Hold on, if I'm a direct descendent of the main family. Shouldn't the main family be even more fancy?'
They reached the end of the hallway to see another two large doors.
Kaiser felt something behind the door but he wasn't sure what it was.
The old man manually opened the doors and walked in.
Inside there were many glistening black obsidian pillars around the room. The lighting protruding from the floor but you could still see what was engraved on the pillars.
Names.
"These are all of the people of our family who've died to the whims of a devil." The old man spoke softly.
Kaiser didn't feel much towards the names, but he finally knew what he felt earlier. A sadness born from generations of death.
"Why are you showing me this?"
"Because, whatever happened to you was most likely due to a devil. They were not lucky enough to escape."
Kaiser walked around looking at the names. His heart was sad but they had nothing to do with him, but he couldn't stop this feeling from building up.
The room was well taken care of as there wasn't a speck of dust to be found.
'So these people were my family? Did they go through something similar to me?'
He felt bad for them. They couldn't enact their revenge because they were dead.
His anger started to rise. The devil's had killed so many of us. They were the ones who killed his dad and best friend. They ruined his peaceful life.
It was his life.
"Can we kill them?" Kaiser asked the old man who was waiting by the door.
He opened his and smiled.
"Of course."
