Chapter 2 - Chapter 002- A Night to Remember

Santiago's Perspective.

"Seriously, old man, we've been over this a million times. I'll get to it, I swear," I said, hanging up the phone.

"Was that your grandpa?" Anthony, my best buddy, asked while he was busy tying his shoelaces.

"Yeah, and he's at it again with his same old story. I'm just over it," I sighed, checking out my hairline in the mirror.

"Well, you could just give him the grandkids he's always asking for so he'll back off," Anthony suggested.

"Sometimes I really wonder why you're always on his side," I replied, but he just laughed it off.

"Let's go get the fishes!" Anthony joked, and we headed out of the room toward the sports cars parked outside, where my hefty bodyguards were waiting.

"I hope this trip is worth my time," I muttered as we hopped into the car and the driver took off.

As soon as we got to the club on our way to the VIP lounge, a woman bumped into me. My bodyguards were ready to spring into action, but I quickly stopped them.

She looked tipsy but stunning. Normally, I'd brush someone like her off, but there was something about her that drew me in, something I couldn't quite put my finger on.

"How much do you charge for a night with a guy like you?" she asked, making Anthony nearly burst out laughing. I shot him a glare to keep quiet, and he did.

At first, I thought this woman was just putting on an act, but the serious look on her face made me really curious about what was coming next. It seemed like she had misquoted me, so I quickly corrected myself before she could change her mind, and just like that, we were on the same page about our deal.

Once we hopped into the car, I felt a bit awkward enjoying the silence as I drove away. Still, I sensed that something was bothering her.

"So, as a call guy, you drive this fancy car?" she asked, studying me like she was trying to catch me in a lie.

"Is that what she's thinking?" I wondered, easing my foot onto the gas.

"Well, remember back at the club? I mentioned I work with high-profile clients, which is why I was a bit unsure if you could pay me," I replied, glancing her way. She looked surprised by my answer.

"Wow, I had no idea there was that much money in this," she said, scratching her head while I chuckled and kept driving.

When we arrived at the hotel, I parked the car in the lot.

"Are you really sure you want to go through with this?" I asked again. I remembered she was a bit tipsy when we met at the club, but now she seemed completely sober.

"I want this more than anything," she replied, and with that, we stepped out of the car and made our way to the building.

As soon as I opened the door, the floral scent in the room hit me.

"Are you really sure about this?" I asked for what felt like the tenth time, making sure we are on the same page.

"You've got nothing to worry about," she said, dropping my bag and starting to unbutton my shirt.

"No, little cat," I suddenly said, pinning her against the wall.

"I'll take charge instead; just watch me as I glorify your body," I said, placing kisses all over her body.

I rubbed my eyes with one hand while the other rested on the soft bunda of the woman I had met at the club last night. Glancing at the clock, I saw it was already past eight in the morning.

Wow! I couldn't believe how well I had slept—something that hadn't happened in the last 30 years. The memories of the previous night were still fresh in my mind. She looked so serene while sleeping, even more stunning than I remembered.

Just as I was about to move my hand, I noticed her shift slightly. I quickly shut my eyes, realizing she might be waking up. I cracked one eye open to see what she was up to, and I could hardly believe my eyes.

"Are you really trying to sneak out without settling up, little cat?" I asked, watching her in disbelief. She stood there, looking shocked, clutching her bag and heels like she'd seen a ghost.

"Uh... I mean no, I was just trying to pay you," she stammered.

"Oh really? Is that why you're tiptoeing to the door, hoping to avoid paying me?" I replied, getting up from the bed, completely naked.

"Could you at least put on some clothes?" she said, covering her face while trying to avoid looking at my impressive state.

"Don't tell me you're already getting excited by this?" I teased, grabbing a bottle of water and taking a big gulp.

When I turned back to her, I noticed she was already on her knees.

"Please, I don't have any cash on me. I was so drunk last night that I don't even remember what I said," she pleaded, and I raised an eyebrow in response.

"What are you trying to say? This isn't what we agreed on, right?" I asked.

"I know I broke our agreement," she said, making an effort to keep her gaze on my face instead of elsewhere. "But I swear, I'll do anything you want, please," she begged again.

"Anything?" I replied, surprised by her response.

"Yes, please," she nodded earnestly.

"What's your name?" I suddenly asked.

"Huh?" she looked puzzled before responding, "Nora, Nora Lawson."

"Marry me, Nora," I said, my expression serious.

"Excuse me? I didn't quite catch that," she said, taken aback.

"Yes, Nora. Since you said you'd do anything to make things right, marry me for just six months. You'll be my wife during that time, and in return, I'll clear your bills and give you a monthly allowance of $150,000. Plus, you can ask for anything you want after the contract ends. So, it's your call, Nora," I said while putting on my pants.

"Are you serious right now?" she asked, clearly shocked. "Why do you want this? Why me?"

"My grandfather has been bugging me to settle down, and since you owe me, I figured you'd be the perfect fit," I replied.

"And you don't think I'm too heavy to be your wife?" she asked, staring at me in disbelief.

"Who cares? You're beautiful, and that's what counts. So, what do you say, Nora Lawson?" I answered.

"Wait, did you just say $150,000 a month? How can you afford that?" she asked, eyeing me suspiciously.

"I make way more than that per session, so it's not a big deal for me," I lied.

The truth was, I didn't want to deceive her, but since she saw me as a certain type of guy, I decided to play along. After all, she'd be gone in six months anyway.

After what felt like forever, she finally... said, "Yeah, I choose to be your wife for the next six months."
