I watched in silence as he embraced his wife and held her for a long time while she rubbed his back till he was satisfied before he let her go and sat down where she once sat.
"I'll be at that corner if you need…." She wanted to leave when Jacob held her hand in place and said one word while looking at me, "Stay."
I didn't like this but I mustered the courage to remain seated.
Grace frowned but sat beside him in silence.
"Leah," he began.
"Mr Jacob," I said.
"Can you tell me why you really left me?" He asked and I frowned.
"You already know."
"I don't. If it's because I hit you then why did you leave some weeks after I proposed because if I can remember correctly, I didn't lay a hand on you ever since that party that led to the accident," he said and I looked at his wife to find her very calm.
Did he tell her?
And she was this calm?
