Feeling a creeping sense of curiosity as the silence stretched on, Sophia hesitated.
She gently pulled back and looked at Aurora. "But... are they sure Lucas did it?" she asked cautiously.
Aurora turned her face away, nodding slowly. "I was there, Sophia. I saw him beat Hades… and the evidence is all there. Lucas's fingerprints were on the weapon—the silvery rod—and the ropes. There's no chance they'll think he's innocent."
Sophia bit her lower lip, processing the information. "I see," she murmured. But she forced a smile, squeezing Aurora's hand one last time. "Just try to relax, okay? It'll work out."
Aurora nodded, her eyes tired and clouded with worry.
After some more time spent comforting Aurora, Sophia finally excused herself.
She made her way to her room, shutting the door behind her with a soft click.
Her hands lingered on the lock for a moment, trembling slightly.
