Sophia lay motionless on the bed as Derek carefully placed her there.
The room was faintly illuminated by the soft glow of a bedside lamp.
It was the same room Sophia had stayed in at Aurora's mansion.
The familiar surroundings did little to calm the unease that hung in the air.
Aurora stood nearby, her face a mix of concern and focus as she stared at Sophia.
She moved closer, sitting beside Sophia, gently placing her hand on Sophia's cold one.
Aurora glanced at Derek, her expression masking the worry that had gnawed at her for hours.
"How is she?" Aurora asked softly, her eyes not leaving Sophia's pale face.
Derek straightened and checked his wristwatch.
"She'll be fine," Derek replied, his tone confident. "She'll regain consciousness anytime..."
He looked at his watch again and finished, "Now."
Almost on cue, Sophia's eyes shot open.
She gasped, wide-eyed, scanning the room with confusion.
