Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

FIONA

My heart skipped a beat. Or maybe more than a beat, actually.

"Finish her!" were the exact words that monster said and I heard them loud and clear.

This was it. I don't think I can escape this, this time around.

Then....like magic.... A mighty wolf. Gold fur.

Grey with really beautiful eyes.

Suddenly appeared stood in front of me.

'Scared me' had already concluded in my heart that I was dead as I anticipated the attack of the vampire wolf.

I couldn't fathom what was happening.

The wolf fought off every single one of them. Not a single one of them came close.

My eyes widened in surprise as I admired its courage and swift movement.

His presence was magnificent and his bright looking fur captured my attention as I kept staring at him.

I was lost in thoughts at the sight of him but I immediately composed myself.

I felt a sudden whoosh in the air as he suddenly turned into his human form.

I had never seen such a fast transformation in my life!

I gasped. I stood still, staring intensely at this handsome figure who was shirtless before me.

"We need to leave here immediately," he said in his husky tone.

"Hmmm?" I mumbled.

"Lest you want to be eaten by those bandit wolves wolves you can stay behind," he jested.

"Of course not," I answered in a haste.

He carried me on his back and raced into the woods till we arrived at a clearing.

The sight was welcoming. Everything seemed different; and the atmosphere changed.

Before I knew it, I saw other wolves racing with us from behind.

At first, I was scared it was the bandits but then I discovered they were actually following him; like some sort of patrol.

"Welcome to Jupiter pack," he said as he took me into his chambers.

Jupiter pack?

"What is your name, damsel?" He asked as he offered me a glass of water

What a gentleman!

"I…I…my name is Fiona Cullen. I came from the Bluemoon pack," I answered reluctantly.

I was scared of telling him but I told him still.

"Please don't sniff," I said in my head.

If he does, he would notice I am not with a wolf.

I sighed and drank up the water in the cup. "Thank you," I answered gently.

"But you haven't told me who you are," I spoke confidently.

He tilted his head and told me to look outside. "Can you see anything?"

"Uhmmm, no," I answered. It was weird actually but surprisingly I couldn't see anything but a mist.

He gave a short laugh, "Your head is still pretty banged up. You should have your rest. When you are awake then we would talk," he replied.

He stepped out and I heard whispers from outside like he was speaking to someone.

SEBASTIAN'S POV

I wonder how she got there.

It didn't look like she was going to put up a fight.

She would have been long home dead if I didnt show up there.

I had left her in my chambers and came to settle in the Dome, a room set aside for me to attend to issues in the pack house.

"Pfff….so you are here?" Rachel barged in.

"Seriously….how many times would I warn you to stop barging into the office like that?"

"Oh, brother. You so much attach importance to this room. We own it together," she jested.

I smiled. "We don't. In as much as I am sitted here, I deserve some respect from you. I am your Alpha!"

"Ahah…I knew it. Younwer always going to bring that up whenever we are about having an argument. It's nit a fair play, you know."

"One day, I will bite your head and take your cherished throne from you!" She protested.

"Hmmm, is that a challenge, baby sister?"

"Absolutely not. Who am I to stand against the most powerful Alpha in all of the five territories of Darkstone City?"

"Okay, enough of the tease. What are you doing here, Rachel? Aren't you supposed to be at the pack hospital attending attending to your patients?"

"I have capable hands handling that, already. I came to check on my beloved brother," she smiled in response.

"Go on. I know there is more."

"Okay, you got me. I heard there is a new intake in the pack and talks are going around that you brought her in."

"ON YOUR BACK, SEBASTIAN!" She spoke aloud.

"Easy now. Well, I met her in the woods, in the most dangerous situation. The Bandits were going to eat her up!"

"Wait, what? Was she lost or what? How about her pack?"

"She claimed to be from the Bluemoon pack. Do we have any information on them?"

"Oh..Bluemoon pack. Those were the idiots who crossed our territory some years ago. They were on a hunt and forgot they had boundaries; lost in the fun," she explained.

"So where is she? This girl from Bluemoon?"

"She is in my chambers, asleep," I answered in a haste.

"I actually need you to check her. I think she hit her head."

"Okay. That aside, how about what you went for, before you brought in this girl?"

"I couldn't find it, Rachel. Are we even sure this thing exists?"

"Are you doubting the words of Elder Konan?"

"You need to find it, brother. Else, we would keep losing our warriors. You know this has gone on for generations. If we have the means to bring to an end, wouldn't that be glorious for you as the Alpha of the pack?" She reiterated.

"You know how much I want to. I can't afford to lose more men to this mystery."

"I will do something about it," I added.

"So what is the record at hand?"

"For now, they are all responding to treatment. Asides from the casualties recorded, I think we just need to keep everyone in check."

A heavy knock came from the door.

"Who is there?"

"My Lord, come quick…..the lady at your chambers!"
