Victor's POV
The tension was palpable as we rode in the black SUV toward Blue Moon Pack. Sabrina sat beside me, her sharp features betraying none of the turmoil I knew she felt inside. The air between us was heavy, laced with unspoken words.
I knew she was calculating—always was. It was one of the reasons I admired her so much. But this time, I couldn't shake the feeling that her plans were teetering on a dangerous edge.
The silence in the car was broken by her voice.
"Do you think the elders have already petitioned the Alpha King?" she asked, her tone calm but tinged with curiosity.
"Knowing them, I wouldn't be surprised," I replied, glancing out the window at the forest whizzing past. "They've been waiting for an opportunity to weaken your hold, Sabrina. This might be their golden chance."
She smirked, her confidence unnerving. "Let them try. If they think I'm going to sit back and let them strip me of my position, they're sorely mistaken."
