Chapter 269 - An Attempt.

Looking at the shining crimson stars, Loki made up his mind and extended his spirituality to touch them.

'Wait! I need to prepare to receive them first.'

Loki dismissed all the chairs and tables he'd created and hid away all the items he'd stored above the grey fog.

Once everything was hidden away and looked clean and presentable, Loki gave everything one last glance and stopped stressing out by taking a deep breath.

'Did I forget something?'

'Ah, yes the Card of Blasphemy.'

Loki immediately put the Error Card of Blasphemy into his body and acquired a regal presence.

'This…is this how it feels to be a Demigod?'

Loki clenched and unclenched his hands but couldn't stop himself from feeling excessively powerful. It felt as if he'd suddenly become high on power.

But Loki stopped and pulled out the card immediately.

'That was close…'

'Is it because I haven't completed the ritual to become one? Since that would've given me a form of anchor?'

'*sigh*'

Although Loki had felt a sudden rush of power he also felt himself losing control at a rapid pace.

'How am I going to become a Demigod then?' Loki wondered.

'Do I create anchors for myself? Well, that just means I should start the Tarot club since they'll probably be the first Anchors I can get.'

'Only time can tell…I hope everything goes well.'

And so with his fingers crossed, Loki started the count down.

'Alright, in three..'

'Two…'

'One…and begin!'

Loki extended his spirituality and touched five crimson stars.

One he already knew about, but four others that he didn't recognise.

A feeling of nervousness ate away at Loki's stomach causing him to nearly falter in the first summoning as a million thoughts ran through his mind.

'Is it even going to summon people?'

'What if it just summons some random muggles? What do I do then?'

'Shouldn't I have checked who the stars represented beforehand!?'

'Damn me and my impulses!'

Miles away in a strange house, filled with several finicky instruments was a man who was drinking from a flask.

He licked his lips and looked at the man who was lying inside a strange chest that appeared to be as deep as a large pool.

The man was naked but that wasn't what was most remarkable about him.

What was most surprising was that the man in the chest looked almost exactly like the man outside.

As the man outside put the flask in his hand into a pocket on his waist he flicked his wand and caused the chest to close.

But just as he was about to move towards a chair, that flask in his pocket cracked and a sudden burst of crimson light filled his vision.

In another part of the country, a young woman strode through an office room that was filled with cubicles.

"Dominic! I need you to help!"

"Laura, you know I'm swamped. I'm sorry I can't help you right now."

"No! You don't get it! This is important!"

"More important than the incident at the World Cup?"

The woman pouted in response.

"Yeah. I thought so."

"Even if I treat you to dinner?" The woman asked putting on a pretty smile.

".....no." Dominic rejected her and went back to working through the stacks of paperwork that he had to file.

"*sigh* Fine! Just do this when you find time then. I'll leave it to you!"

Dominic frowned but as he was about to speak the woman quickly turned around and walked away.

'Damn! Does this lady not work at all? I've never seen her do anything! Why is she still even employed as an Unspeakable?'

The person in the cubicle beside Dominic pushed their chair back and spoke in a humorous tone.

"Got stuck with Laura's work Dominic?"

"Yeah, pretty much. Does she even do anything?"

"She's nicknamed Freeloader. You don't seriously expect her to do anything do you?" The man joked.

"*sigh*"

"Haha~ Don't worry, if you become as useful as her to the department I'm sure everyone will put up with you giving away your work too."

"What does she even do?" Dominic asked with a puzzled expression.

But the man just shook his head and said, "If I told you I'd have to kill you." before he went back to his work.

Dominic *Sighed* once again and went back to stamping papers, except as he reached out to pick up the stamp on his desk he froze.

An audible *crack* appeared on the necklace he wore, before his vision became died in crimson.

In Ginny's room at the Weasley's Hermione lay on the bed, wide awake while staring at the ceiling. Out of boredom, she picked up the glass orb that had snow particles inside it from the table beside her bed.

Ginny was asleep and hence didn't notice anything.

Hermione shook the snow globe and stared at the snowstorm inside it with a frown.

'It was the right decision to ask Professor McGonagall to turn me into a Beyonder.'

'I'm sure Harry became one too. I remember how strange he was acting around me during the World Cup. Did Sirius turn him into a Beyonder?'

Suddenly the snow globe in her hands *cracked* but before she could respond or even think about what had just happened, crimson light flooded her vision and caused her to freeze.

Inside a damp room filled with posters of various members of the black family tree, a man lay on the floor. Wasted out as if he had drunk himself to extinction. A beautiful but mostly empty golden goblet lay in his grasp. A little bit of alcohol still remained in the goblet, but the man was far from awake to do anything about it.

But suddenly the beady blood red and emerald blue gems inserted into its expensive gold designs cracked.

In a damp room with a single cauldron on a table that was simmering at just the right temperature, a man patiently watched as he dripped down an expensive silver liquid, the blood of a unicorn, into the potion in front of him.

The atmosphere of the room was tense, with the man's entire focus completely on the drop that was oozing out of the dipper. He wanted to get the quantity just right because he didn't want to waste it.

But to his surprise, the cauldron cracked before his entire vision was engulfed by a deep crimson light.

He reacted almost instantly, trying to fight back, but he wasn't given the time to do so.

A girl lying on the bed hugging another smaller girl was taking soft but deep breaths, indicating that she was deep in sleep. But without another warning she was suddenly forced awake as she found herself being dragged into a deep crimson light that had no beginning and no end.

Five astral projections appeared within the realm of the grey fog.

Each one was startled by the sudden change in their surroundings.

Dominic instantly pulled out his wand and pointed it at Loki while the mostly naked man leaned his staff in Loki's direction.

The drunkard was confused.

While the potion master was frowning while looking at Loki with terrible caution.

Fleur had already pulled out her daggers and taken a stance to keep everyone else along with Loki in her sights.

They had all immediately recognised Loki as the perpetrator of the situation.

And while Hermione was confused and afraid, she eventually pulled her wand out from her pocket and pointed it at Loki too.

They all tried looking at each other's illusory bodies that were giving them a hard time about each other's identities but they quickly concluded that the other people were in the same situation as them, making them even more sure that Loki was the one that had something to do with whatever was happening since he was calm and collected.

Looking at the hostile behaviour of his future adorers Loki smiled.

"You want to point your wands at me?" Loki asked with a slight smile. But since his face was hidden by the grey fog and an illusion of mirage, it did not create the desired effect of non-hostility and came off as a provocation.

"Who are you!?" Dominic asked with force. "Where have you brought us!?"

Loki instantly recognised the voice and became dumbfounded.

'Dominic!? What's he doing here?!'

'And that man…is he NAKED!? EW! What was he even doing before coming here!?'

But Loki did not falter in his actions, he spoke with the same confidence he had started with.

"This is an attempt.", Loki said calmly.

"An attempt?" Hermione asked innocently.

Loki recognised her voice too and became even more dumbfounded, every fibre in his being worked tirelessly to keep him from staring directly at the girl and it took him some more to keep himself from breaking his act.

But he didn't directly answer her.

"Let's talk after we sit down. It's not good manners to keep your guests standing." Loki said and waved his hands.

Almost immediately every other person's hands tightened around their wands to react in case something happened but they all immediately became weak when they observed the Olympian pillars climbing out of the sea of fog underneath their feet.

A dome formed on top of those pillars and Loki calmly pointed behind the five people who had appeared in the Sefirah Castle.

As they looked behind themselves, a table sprouted out of the fog with twenty-two chairs around it.

The entire set-up looked like it was meant for giants, not humans, yet Loki cared not for it and walked calmly towards his chair at the head of the table.

The entire debacle had caused fear to sprout among the people but Loki pretended to ignore it.

'At least this had the intended effect.'

Once he sat down, Loki looked at the five people who were still standing while warily pointing their wands towards him.

"Are you not going to take your seats?" Loki said with a calm tone that made them all a little more fearful.

It was only now that they all realised just how casual Loki had been when he'd performed all these actions in front of them.

Their thoughts leaning in similar ways.

'He's much, much stronger than us.'

Seeing Loki looking at them, they slowly put down their wands and moved towards their chairs.

Hermione chose the closest chair on Loki's left. While Dominic and the naked man hesitated a little before they chose ones that were a little away from him, around the middle of the table.

Loki felt a little annoyed because he'd have to talk a little louder now but didn't say much else while Hermione lampooned.

'Why did I sit so close to him like a fool!?'

'I should've stayed away like those other people!'

'Mommy!!!!!'

Meanwhile, after a short debate with himself, Snape took the chair on Loki's right while Fleur sat a little beside him, making sure that she could use him as cover if something happened.
