'I am a Monarch Lergobeast.' Motong said with great authority in his voice. 'Which means whoever I Bond with, will become the Monarch of his domain.' Motong's words practically fell on deaf ears, because Wukong still didn't understand what this had to do with anything.
'And what does that have to do with anything?' Wukong voiced his thoughts.
'Tell me stranger, what is the one quality that makes a Monarch different from everyone else?' Motong asked Wukong with a somewhat sleepy growl.
'Well, its their ability to make the best decisions that will benefit all.'
'For a being of your magnitude, I'm surprised you are so green.' Motong said and brought his head closer to Wukong so he could see his eyes. 'Or is it that you purposefully chose to remain blind I wonder?' Motong practically yawned this time.
Feeling his patience wearing thin, Wukong sighed and turned away, ready to leave the hall. A few seconds into his walk, a mighty chuckle resounded in Wukong's head.
'Struck a nerve have I?' Motong asked, then rose his head and erected his neck so he towered into the air.
Wukong in response to this comment, stopped in his tracks and turned to the dragon.
'Why would you have struck any nerve? I don't understand a single thing you are saying.'
'Oh really? Then why is it you are so hostile? Being of omnipotent fortitude.' Motong lowered his lids as he spoke, giving the impression that he was bored and about to doze off.
Following his questions, Wukong stood still, no response in toe.
'Your silence says it all.' Motong said with a smile, then he lowered his head so he somewhat reached Wukong's eye level. 'Let me elaborate on what you already stranger. The quality of a Monarch that makes him different from others, is his immovable stance to be impartial.'
'I am not partial.' Wukong retorted, clenching his fists so tight one would assume it was going to bleed. Upon hearing Wukong's response, the dragon laughed once more.
'Forgive me if I don't believe you stranger, but you are the definition of partial.'
'You know nothing about...'
'I know everything I have to know Sun Wukong, mighty warrior turned brother, street-rat turned King. You see this world as inferior, non-existent, a sham. And yet I know the true meaning of being a Monarch, or rather, I accept it. A true Monarch does not take preferences on whom and whom not to care for. Our duty is to care for the whole, which means we cannot prioritize the one.'
'I know what my priorities are.' Wukong said, causing Motong to laugh once more.
'Stop fooling yourself, you know as well as I do the truth. You're dooming your people just for the sake of your sister. Even though her life is supposed to be sacrificed for theirs.' Motong said, this time actually getting bored and returning his head to his abdomen, ready to wrap himself like a cat or coil like a ball of yarn. But before he could completely turn, Wukong zoomed in front of the dragon, with a speed that could almost be compared to that which he possessed in his realm.
This speed had caused Motong's eyes to widen in astonishment. At that moment, he felt something different about the being before him, something incredibly powerful. Trying to shrug it off, he smiled.
'It's talk like this that I hate. I've been told for so long that exact same crap, the life of the many outweighs the life of one.' Wukong said with an ironic grin. He stared into Motong's eyes, with determination in his. 'A Monarch should value one life as much as everyone else's.'
'If you truly believe that stranger, then perhaps its better you forfeit your crown. Your people will probably be better off without you.' With this, the dragon was done talking, and so was Wukong.
Hesitant for a moment, Wukong gritted his teeth, wanting to say more. But what else was there to say? He knew deep down the dragon was wrong and he was right, but, why is it he couldn't defend his stance. Is it because deep down, he felt he was wrong?
With clenched fists, Wukong walked away, leaving Motong to watch him from behind.
Once he exited the hall, he made his way to the edge of this hallway, where railings overlooking a vast open space awaited him. It would seem the castle was built like a huge cube, with a square hole jabbed in the middle.
Wukong rested his hands on the rails, as he peered toward the other side of the castle, where he saw people moving to and fro. As he tried to calm his thoughts and think, a gentle breeze flew in, which did a great job of letting him relax.
He stood there, thinking on what the dragon had told him. He wasn't right, he just wasn't. He would do this for any other person, and not just his sister. He valued all lives, that was his conviction.
'So if it was someone else in your sister's place, you would give up your throne?' Wukong thought, and then hesitated for a moment.
"I...I..." Wukong could not form an answer. 'It's not that simple.' Wukong thought, feeling anger welling within him.
Thinking on that question, he slammed his hand on the rails, and as a result of that, a bracelet he had on loosened up and fell. Wukong watched it fall into the depth, making its way down several floors that never seemed to end.
As he peered into the depth, another gentle breeze swept in, which did a good job of soothing him of his worries, even if by a little. Wukong continued to watch the bracelet, until it finally reached the bottom. And when it did, a melodious ring emanated into the air, before being lost in the vastness of the castle.
Wukong sighed, then fell his head. He tried to clear his mind and keep his priorities straight. The dragon couldn't care less if he was an omnipotent god, or a cockroach that took the prince's body. That was good enough for him.
Right now, he just had to somehow make the Realmwalker leave this world and return back to hers. Shouldn't be too difficult. Once he told her of his sister's plan to use her as a sacrifice, then she wouldn't stay here even if she was begged to.
And after, he would be return to his realm and be...
Thinking on this, Wukong shook his head and then lifted his gaze.
"My people will be fine, I'm doing what is right, I know it." Wukong whispered to himself, ready to leave this rails and make his way to the prince's room, when he saw the Realmwalker on the other side of the castle. He watched her rushing with a bowl of clothes in her hands to some unknown location.
He thought of taking the bridge that connected the four corners of this castle to go an talk to her. But then she walked into one of those doors on the wall and what followed was a light. With that, Wukong knew she had gone to some part of the castle he didn't know.
He had to talk to her, that much was sure enough. But something within him was reluctant to do so.
Staring at the door she went into, the prince sighed, then turned around and made his way to his room.
