Chapter 68 - LXVIII: A Step In The Perfect Direction

"My hands..." Tsai said, staring at her hands.

"Ah right." Judith had said, forgetting for a moment that Tsai's hands went numb because of the stocks. But it wasn't anything major, in a few minutes or so, she would regain the mobility of her arms once more.

Bending lower, Judith pulled Tsai's arms over her shoulder and helped her onto her feet. They made their way into the bathroom, in which Judith realized she didn't really pay any mind to last time.

Probably because there was only one small Light Crystal which barely illuminated anything. But now, she had the rays of the Phoenix to see clearly.

Taking in the bathroom, Judith realized it wasn't anything too spectacular. But yet again, it was ten times better and bigger than the one she had in her closet room.

This bathroom — though bare — was spacious. Had it not been for a small low chair, a big wooded tub in the middle of the room, a tap, a towel rack and a bucket beside it, and a toilet to the far end of the room, it would have been completely empty. Then again, what else was supposed to be present in a bathroom?

After taking in the sights, Judith had helped Tsai to the chair, then helped her take her robe off before turning the tap on so water could flow into the tub.

"I shouldn't use the tub." Tsai had said, pulling Judith's attention.

"What? Why?" Judith had asked, staring at Tsai.

"You didn't use it yesterday due to the cold of the night. You should be the one to use it first." Tsai said, falling her gaze.

"Is this about the whole maid thing again?" Judith had asked, a reprimanding gaze in her eyes. After her question, Tsai remained quiet, all but confirming her suspicion. "Well, if that's the case then you're using it." With that, Tsai said nothing more.

Once the tub was filled up, Judith had grabbed a plate of liquid soap, which was placed on a holder at the rim of the tub. After pouring in a good amount, she returned the plate to its holder, then helped Tsai into the tub. After which she helped Tsai clean up. Once she was done, Judith had realized just how much she needed a shower.

She wasn't exactly dirty, but remembering the sort of mess she had cleaned up several minutes prior, she felt was absolutely dirty. She even felt the awful smell was lingering on her clothes.

Feeling disgusted, Judith eagerly wanted a bath.

Once Tsai was done and she helped her dry out and wrapped her in the towel, she chased her out of the bathroom and proceeded to clean herself immediately. Ten minutes later, with some extra minutes added in for soaking, Judith finally emerged from the bathroom, feeling and smelling as fresh as a daisy.

Stretching, she turned to Tsai who was staring out the one window in their room. Still soaking wet, she wondered where Tsai had kept the towel she wrapped around her, before suddenly realizing something.

"Where'd you get that?" Judith had asked, both pointing at the clothing Tsai was wearing and also pulling Tsai's thoughts.

"What?" Tsai inquired before turning to Judith, "Oh!" She blurted when she found Judith completely naked. She at once turned away, feeling that it was inappropriate to stare. At once she picked up the towel she hung on the window — albeit with some difficulty — and handed it to Judith, who was still staring at her robe.

Tracing Judith's eyes, Tsai finally realized what her question was aimed at.

"Oh you mean this?" She pointed at her clothing. "It was Lady Qui Lin, she gave them to us, along with other things." Tsai added.

"Really, when was this?" Judith inquired as she proceeded to clean herself.

"Yesterday, while you were busy." Tsai said, struggling but succeeding in closing the window, so no one would sneak a peek at Judith. Then she make her way to a corner of the room, and forced her hands to pull on the flat wooden wall.

Judith couldn't help but watch in confusion as Tsai struggled to pull at...a well, a wall. But to her surprise, Tsai had pulled the wall open, revealing a wardrobe on the other side.

This had astonished Judith, she didn't even realize this room had such a unique wardrobe, but more than that, there were bundles of clothes neatly folded in each layer of the wardrobe.

"Whoa, Lady Qui Lin gave us all of those?" Judith had wondered as she made her way to the wardrobe.

Tsai nodded, then turned her gaze away when Judith had dropped the towel onto the floor.

'Could she be any less callous about her body?' Tsai thought to herself, before becoming distracted by something. Trying to confirm it, she returned her sights to Judith once more and what she saw surprised her.

"What else did she send?" Judith had asked, but she received no response. This had caused her to turn and find Tsai adamantly staring at her.

"Tsai?" Judith had called out, snapping Tsai out of her daze.

"Ah, yes? Oh right, sorry I was distracted." Tsai said, aiming to tell Judith what had surprised her before Judith interrupted.

"Why, by my incredible beauty?" Judith turned fully and made the pose of a picturesque painting. At once Tsai felt uncomfortable and turned her sight.

"No, you are very beautiful." Tsai smiled wryly, "But I was distracted by your tattoo. I just, never expected you to have one. It suits you though, it looks like a design of Qugan Origin. Did you do that deliberately?" Tsai had said, but she received no response.

Turning to Judith, she found her frozen and dawning an expression of utter astonishment. Thinking something completely different, Tsai began to defend herself.

"Oh, please don't think anything weird, I swear I just glanced. I didn't mean to…"

"Does it look like a flower with a dragon wrapped around it?!" Judith had burst, interrupting Tsai and confusing her.

"Uh yes…"
