In the blink of an eye, the Tethered had dashed toward Wukong, both hands folded into fists ready to break his opponent in half. Upon getting within an inch of Wukong he struck with both fists.
Just then, Wukong had used his sword to deflect the strike, so the explosive wind had burst beside Wukong. Following this, Wukong had involuntarily shut his eyes from the pain. Which made the Tethered smile.
Once again, he had used his Yang Alkalis and he struck Wukong. And once again — being unable to dodge in time — Wukong used the sword to deflect the attack. But this time he did not just deflect the attack, but spun so he could deliver his own strike.
And to add to that, he did so with a speed and vigor that did not communicate fatigue from using a weapon of greater rank.
In this moment, the Tethered realized the higher-ranked weapon had yet to take effect. And Wukong was just baiting him.
