Jovita's POV
I woke to see myself in a bright room that looked more like an ancient, gorgeous castle.
I was standing in front of a strange-looking group of people sitting in a circle. I was in the middle of the circle.
The castle was made of pure gold that glimmered in the morning sun, that bathed the room.
The floor was made of something I suspected to be diamonds, from the way it sparkled.
The castle walls were adorned with beautiful paintings and gorgeous-looking floor-to-ceiling windows. I let out a gasp, taking in the beauty of the entire room.
The people in the room were dressed in different shades of black. Some wore modern outfits, but it was all black. They all looked youthful and beautiful.
I noticed a particularly stunning woman sitting beside an equally handsome young man. They looked a little over thirty, but I was certain they were far older than that.
They were sitting on a golden throne each, and their clothes spoke of royalty and power.
"Where am I?" I asked in a trembling voice.
"You're safe my child, I'm so glad to finally meet you", the handsome man said. And in an instant, he was in front of me.
I blinked to be sure I had not imagined what I just saw. He smiled, studying me.
"I see you're quite surprised, you must not be aware of who you are yet", he said in an angelic voice.
"Who I am?" I asked.
The crowd of men and women mumbled to each other.
"Silence!" The handsome man said. He was tall, and well-built, his features perfectly highlighted by his modern, expensive-looking clothes.
He had a shock of long sliver hair that parted in the middle and fell gracefully to his back. Words could not describe how handsome he was.
His eyes were equally silver, boring into me like they could penetrate my skin.
"Mother, what do I? My daughter doesn't know who I am", he said, drifting to the woman on the throne. Drifting was the only way I could describe his movement.
Did he just call her mother? I thought. She looked more like an older sibling of he's.
"She seems not to know who she is either", his beautiful mom, who was meant to be my grandmother, said with a smile. Revealing a perfect set of teeth.
I wondered what was wrong with me. First I woke up in a beautiful forest with a woman claiming to be my mother, and now I wake up in a castle to see a man claiming to be my father. I'm one hell of a magnet for strange things ain't I?
The man who claimed to be my father studied me for a while, his eyes saddened.
"She didn't tell you who I was, did she?" He asked.
From the look of things, he was referring to the woman who claimed to be my mother.
And when I looked into his saddened, beautiful silver eyes, I found myself wishing I had known about him so I could take his pain away. Why? I couldn't fathom.
"Because he is your father", my inner voice whispered.
I shot my eyes. I was certainly going crazy.
"So what should we do Mother?" My father asked, drifting towards me this time.
"We have to wait until she's ready", his mother said.
He turned to stare at his mother, and then his gaze returned to me.
"And when would that be?" He asked, edging forward.
"Soon, she has found her betrothed, it wouldn't be long", his mother replied.
My father smiled, and I felt my heart melting.
"I have waited for you for so long my child, I'm honoured to finally meet you my sacred one", he said, his silver eyes teary.
"She has to go", his mother said, coming to put her hands around him.
"Bye my love, until we meet again," he said, with saddened eyes.
***
When I woke up, I was in a neat, sweet-smelling, familiar room. I turned to observe my surroundings, and I caught sight of Jayden sleeping beside me.
I felt very thirsty, so I carefully climbed down from the bed, trying my best not to wake him up. He looked exhausted.
I felt a bit dizzy myself, I was still wondering if what had happened to me earlier was a dream.
When I reached the fridge, I took a glass of water and smiled contentedly as the water flowed down my throat. I had never been this thirsty before.
I had just drained my third glass of water when I felt a warm, strong hand wrap around my waist.
"Jayden?" I mumbled, still startled, as I recognized his scent. My body relaxed a little.
"You got me scared today, my love", he whispered in my ear, nibbling the tip.
I couldn't help but giggle.
"I'm sorry, I had a strange dream that felt so real", I said, turning to face him.
"I guess it was quite real", he replied studying my face.
"What?"
"Something strange happened today", he said quietly.
I looked at him, waiting.
"I don't think I might be the right person to tell you", he said in defeat.
"Fine".
I walked out of the kitchen angrily and headed for the bedroom.
When I didn't hear his footsteps behind me, I knew he wasn't ready to chase me right now. I felt a stabbing pain as the realization hit me.
Was I crazy? I wondered. Why was my life so much of a puzzle? Why was everyone hiding things from me, and dropping hints that left me even more confused?
Who exactly was I?
