Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 This Cloth Wasn't Wasted

Zhao Guang's behavior had quite startled Count Yars. After all, Mages and Alchemists already held very high statuses; having such people behind him, especially in such numbers, made Count Yars wary of offending him.

Although he didn't understand why Zhao Guang lacked even the basic cultivation methods, who really knows when it comes to matters of Mages?

Moreover, since Zhao Guang dared to study, it implied that the Mages behind him had already given their tacit approval.

"Forget it, let's wait until he brings the items so we can check the quality. We might be able to discern something from that, and besides, with this batch of arrows, we might be able to push even further."

Klay kept his head down and said nothing; some matters were beyond his prerogative to comment on.

After leaving, Zhao Guang first went to the supplies warehouse.

"Not bad, not bad, he does have some conscience," Zhao Guang said as he looked at the Gold Coins, nodding in satisfaction. Indeed, right from the start, Zhao Guang had made it clear he needed Gold Coins.

This batch of Gold Coins was not small in number, even more than he had gotten from the Beastmen.

But suddenly, Zhao Guang saw something yellow: "What's that?"

"Just a piece of stone, I heard it can burn, but it doesn't burn well—too much smoke and it easily goes out," they replied.

Zhao Guang picked it up, still able to see some impurities inside: "Why does this look so familiar? It feels like amber. No way, using amber to make fire; isn't that a bit too extravagant?"

"Can I take this back to have a look?" he asked.

"Of course, it's not worth much anyway," the guard who was watching the gate didn't care.

Zhao Guang happily placed it on the tricycle and then waved goodbye, "No need to see me out; I know the way."

The soldiers weren't planning to accompany him anyway. In their eyes, Zhao Guang was just a trader. No matter how formidable a trader, he had little impact on them.

Zhao Guang rode his tricycle out, but as he passed an open area, he couldn't help but wince.

Indeed, it was Ocoro again, now actually starting to embrace art. Completely bald, he struck a twisted, coquettish pose and kept asking the surrounding Soldiers what they thought.

That would have been enough, but what was more crucial was that Jack and Hans had also been made completely bald.

The look of chagrin in their eyes, combined with the bright, gleaming expressions of the big men around them. "Ah, I feel for you guys; too bad I can't help you," Zhao Guang shook his head, pretending he hadn't seen.

While covering his eyes, he continually peeked through gaps between his thick fingers.

The tricycle slowly moved past them, Jack and Hans saw him but dare not call out. They could only watch helplessly as Zhao Guang left, their hopeful gaze turning into resentment.

Leaving the camp, Zhao Guang looked at his compass while following the markers forward.

Having crossed this area several times, Zhao Guang felt somewhat familiar with the paths.

Also, by using the compass, Zhao Guang always managed to clarify the directions. The Human camp was to the east, while the Beastman camp lay to the west. More specifically, because of his limited knowledge, Zhao Guang did not know much else.

In the camp, a map was an extremely precious and important item; from his first visit, Zhao Guang knew he wouldn't be able to buy one.

Although the battery wasn't working, riding the tricycle was indeed much faster and less tiring than walking. After not much time, Zhao Guang saw his unique, large stone.

However, Zhao Guang looked to one side, where a dusty figure was cautiously moving towards him.

The cooing sound was so familiar, so intimate.

"Oh, it's you. I thought you had left." That familiar figure was none other than the Hard-haired Pig that had relentlessly chased after him before. He hadn't seen it this time and thought it might have left.

The Hard-haired Pig looked at Zhao Guang, with excitement and fear in its eyes, clearly remembering what had happened last time.

Looking at that unfamiliar tricycle, so big and imposing, it also frightened the Hard-haired Pig. In the eyes of animals, the bigger something is, the stronger it usually appears to be, as size is a representation of strength.

Zhao Guang smiled and got off, at which the Hard-haired Pig's eyes lit up with excitement.

It cooed and ran towards Zhao Guang.

Excitement flashed through Zhao Guang's eyes as well, and suddenly he pulled a piece of cloth from his pocket. "I prepared this for you, thought it would go to waste, but now it's just perfect."

Zhao Guang unfolded the white piece of cloth he held in his hand, indeed prepared for this Hard-haired Pig.

A pristine piece of cloth edged with lace, it must have looked quite elegant on the Hard-haired Pig. But before it could get a good look, it found itself unable to see anything.

This scenario wasn't new, and the Hard-haired Pig was familiar with it.

While continuing to coo, crashing headlong and tearing at the cloth, it soon vanished from Zhao Guang's sight.

Zhao Guang watched the Hard-haired Pig leave and then walked over to a large rock to dismantle the tricycle. If he didn't dismantle it, it might not be there next time, considering it was made of metal.

Although Zhao Guang couldn't tell much from the arrow in his hand, he could feel that the metal of the arrowhead wasn't very good.

It took some time to move the stuff back. After that, Zhao Guang lay straight on the bed.

"This is really tiring," he mused. "Indeed, starting a business is always tough." Zhao Guang touched his buttocks and found that the injury seemed almost completely healed, the healing speed was incredibly fast.

Then, he picked up his cell phone and saw the landlord's number. No, she wasn't the landlord anymore.

"Hello, I was busy earlier, so I couldn't answer the phone," Zhao Guang called back directly.

"Oh Xiao Zhao, I've already spoken for you, and two families have decided to sell to you. One house is two thousand six hundred, and the other is two thousand eight hundred."

Oh boy, Zhao Guang's eyes widened, this lady was ruthless, how did she manage such a house price.

A big loss, a huge loss, he had paid the lady eleven thousand per square meter initially.

"How about tomorrow? Let's go sign the contract tomorrow. How are the others doing, any progress in negotiations?"

"Haven't contacted the others yet, it'll be easier to negotiate once people know these have sold."

Whatever, Zhao Guang didn't understand the intricacies, so this would do. "Alright, waiting for your good news. Tomorrow morning at eight, just get everyone ready to go," he agreed.

After hanging up, Zhao Guang suddenly couldn't sleep. Maybe he should get up and check on things. There was so much gold in the house; it was really a bit worrying just leaving it there.

Suddenly, another call came in.

"Mr. Zhao Guang, the car you bought has arrived. If you have time tomorrow, could you come and pick it up?"

Sleepy and delivered a pillow, Zhao Guang's eyes brightened: "I have time, I'll come over tomorrow."
