"Let's go," Dong Dan said softly, not even glancing at Liu Mei and her companion as she clutched Xiao Han's arm, ready to leave the place.
"Stop right there, Yan Long! If you're a man, help me beat them up and get revenge for me," Liu Mei roared in pain and anger.
Yan Long was that man, hesitating and fidgeting instead of stepping forward.
"Yan Long, don't you want to marry me anymore? You don't even dare to stand up for me. It seems I've misjudged you, you don't really like me," Liu Mei said with a cold sneer.
Startled by Liu Mei's words, Yan Long got scared. He had discarded Dong Dan just to cling to Liu Mei, this "tall branch," and now Liu Mei seemed to be considering dumping him, throwing him into panic.
"Meimei, don't be angry. I'll teach them a lesson for you, but you must believe that I love you," Yan Long hurriedly pleaded, fearing that he might be too late and dumped by Liu Mei.
Only then did Liu Mei show a satisfied expression. Gritting her teeth, she commanded, "Beat up that scumbag viciously, and slap Dong Dan too. I can't stand to see her smug face."
"Alright," Yan Long replied, without any hesitation this time.
He was taller than Xiao Han and seemed robust. As he approached them, Dong Dan's face paled.
She stood in front of Xiao Han, glaring at Yan Long and angrily warned, "Yan Long, don't you dare cause trouble. Fighting in school, think of the consequences."
She was worried, fearing Xiao Han might be at a disadvantage. Although strong, Xiao Han had streamlined muscles, and wore clothes that made him seem lean. In contrast, Yan Long was simply too muscular, and Dong Dan did not think that Xiao Han could be a match for him.
The young man she'd only met once was clashing with Yan Long and the others because of her, and Dong Dan did not want Xiao Han to get hurt.
Little did she know that not even a hundred men like Yan Long could harm Xiao Han.
"Hmph, now you know how to protect your pretty boy. When I said let's break up, you were so willing. It turns out someone else was waiting in the wings. Looking at how close you two are, he must have been in your bed, right? You wretched woman, you played the saintess with me, always reluctant to give in, and now you're finally showing your true slutty nature," Yan Long blocked their path. Seeing Dong Dan protecting Xiao Han, a jealous look flashed across his eyes as he spat out these words.
Dong Dan was stunned. She looked at Yan Long in disbelief, feeling like she was seeing him for the first time. Didn't he know what kind of person she was? He was not only wronging her but also insulting her.
If Dong Dan had despaired over their love before, now she was utterly disillusioned with Yan Long as a person.
"I was blind," sighed Dong Dan, her expression calming.
A cold gleam flashed in Yan Long's eyes as he suddenly aimed a slap at Dong Dan's face.
Dong Dan just stared at Yan Long. Did this man really think she was just an ordinary person? If his hand came down, he'd lose his life.
However, Yan Long's slap never landed. It was caught by someone who, unbeknownst to them, had stepped in front of Dong Dan—Xiao Han.
He held Yan Long's arm firmly, then said indifferently, "A man who hits a woman is no man at all."
"Let go of me! You just hit my girlfriend, so you're no better," Yan Long struggled but could not free his hand from Xiao Han's grip, speaking out in anger.
"I hit a dog," Xiao Han replied coolly.
"Go to hell!" Yan Long aimed a kick at Xiao Han.
There was a dull thud followed by a startling scream. Yan Long fell to the ground, clutching between his legs, writhing and turning the color of eggplant.
Yan Long didn't hit Xiao Han; instead, Xiao Han had kicked him. From now on, it's likely he'd never be able to be a man again.
"The last eunuch has been born; I am the creator of a new species." Xiao Han carefully sized up Yan Long, his tense expression suddenly relaxed, revealing a broad smile.
Dong Dan was a bit dumbfounded. Although she was still a young woman, she understood what eunuch meant. Glancing at Yan Long with pity, Dong Dan found she didn't feel any sympathy for him.
"Let's go, wife."
Xiao Han wrapped his arm around Dong Dan's slender waist and left the place.
As for what would happen to Yan Long, that was no longer Xiao Han's concern.
"He won't die, will he?" Dong Dan couldn't help but worry a little.
"He won't die, but life will be worse than death," Xiao Han replied, sending a shiver down Dong Dan's spine—the thought of being incapacitated in that way was indeed a fate worse than death for a man in his prime.
Arm in arm with Dong Dan, Xiao Han kept this posture as they walked a great distance.
Only when Dong Dan noticed the stares of the people around did she realize what was happening. She quickly stepped out of Xiao Han's embrace, her face turning a bit red as she said to him, "Thank you for today."
"Don't mention it. After all, you are my wife, and it's only right for me to save you," Xiao Han said casually.
Hearing Xiao Han's words, Dong Dan was slightly stunned, but then she replied with a smile, "You really have a sense of humor."
"I never joke. From today onward, you are my wife. Let me introduce myself. I'm Xiao Han, and I've helped you twice," Xiao Han said, baring his teeth in a grin.
Dong Dan's head was spinning, baffled by Xiao Han's words—all this talk of her being his wife and saving her twice made her feel dizzy. She had only met Xiao Han today and had just learned his name.
If they were really going to be together, they would need some time to get to know each other.
"By the way, wife, this is your wallet that I picked up from the overpass yesterday. It's got all your IDs inside. I spent some of the money, but I'll pay you back," Xiao Han handed a wallet to Dong Dan, his eyes shining as they focused on her.
Those eyes looked familiar. When Dong Dan connected the dots between the overpass and the wallet, her pupils dilated suddenly.
Snatching the wallet, she exclaimed, "You're that pervert!"
Clearly, Dong Dan had now realized exactly who Xiao Han was.
As Xiao Han tried to explain, Dong Dan turned and ran as if seeing a ghost, obviously frightened.
"Am I that ugly?" Xiao Han touched his own face, feeling somewhat dejected.
"You're not that ugly, but you're about to become very ugly. Even thinking about touching my brother's woman, I'll make sure even your mother won't recognize you," a dark voice sounded, making its way to Xiao Han's ears.
He turned to look and saw that Fei Ge had returned, but this time not as the leader; he was following a handsome, young man, with a sycophantic expression on his face.
"Actually, I'm feeling very annoyed right now," Xiao Han eyed them.
The group was somewhat taken aback, not understanding what Xiao Han was getting at.
The next moment, Xiao Han charged over. The place was filled with screams, and by the time Xiao Han left, more than a dozen people were lying on the ground, all wailing in pain.
"Much better now," Xiao Han said, his face showing satisfaction.
