Shen Yu gritted his teeth seeing the Elder Wangs and downcasted.
"What's happening?" Grandma Wang questioned.
Mr. and Mrs. Cao bowed their heads immediately, Mr. Cao stepped forward,
"Sorry, Elder Wang. We will reprimand Shen Yu and won't let you see this type of behavior again."
Grandpa Wang frowned looking at his youngest grandson who was on the verge of tears.
"Little Yu, come here."
Shen Yu slowly walked towards his grandfather biting his lips.
By the time, hearing the ruckus, Li's, Qi's, Feng's, and Song Yi Ming arrived there to see what was going on.
"What are you upset about?" Grandpa Wang asked.
"T-The marriage... I don't want to do it."
Shen Yu's voice was so low by the time he finished his sentence.
Even though Wang Grandparents were affectionate towards their grandchildren they would not tolerate any misbehavior and tended to discipline them time-to-time.
That was why Shen Yu was a little afraid of the Elder Wangs.
Qi Li Fan was standing there beside his parents with a knowing look cause he already guessed Shen Yu would never agree to marry this early.
Still, he was a bit disappointed by the fuss Shen Yu was making after knowing that he would be married to him.
Li Fan looked at his parents shaking his head.
"I told you this will not work. Who in the right mind wants to marry out of nowhere?"
Qi Parents sighed. Mei Lian patted her brother's shoulder,
"You should have tried to make a good impression when you were with him, you idiot. What did you do all this week? You are his roommate and there were so many chances for you to woo him but all you-"
"That's because I never wanted to woo anyone. I will obediently listen to our parents and marry whoever they want but... that's all I can do. We can drag a horse to the pond but we can never make it drink the water by force if it doesn't want to."
>>>For me... more than this arranged marriage my career is more important.
>>>If Shen Yu can break off this marriage... then that will be better for both of us.
"YuYu, we always did whatever you wanted. We have always given whatever you asked so in return we expect you to do the same," Grandma Wang's voice was stern.
"This marriage is decided by elders of both families. They know what's good for you," Mr. Wang spoke.
"YuYu, you are just betrothed. The marriage will happen after your studies are finished and you achieve your goals. No one is pressurizing you to marry now," Mrs. Wang gently voiced out understanding his trouble.
Shen Yu looked up in tears as he hugged his aunt, Mrs. Wang, who was always so kind to him.
She was a thoughtful and warm-hearted person who was loved by everyone in the Wang and Cao family and also respected by everyone in the society.
Grandpa Wang laughed to lighten the mood,
"All this fuss for nothing. Don't worry little Yu, I won't let you marry until you finish your studies. You have to study hard, and pass all the exams so don't even think about skipping them using marriage as an excuse."
The mood in the room lightened a bit but Li Fan walked out to breathe some fresh air as his plan to break off their marriage was spoiled just like that by a few words from Mrs. Wang.
"Alright, everyone let's go to the dining hall. The food has been prepared, let's go eat," Grandma Wang suggested.
Everyone nodded their heads and walked towards the dining hall.
Song Yi Ming was trying to talk with them from the start but no one was paying attention to his presence and were busy talking among themselves which made him furious.
Mr. Li noticed his so-called friend Yi Ming but didn't spare him a glance as he knew what type of person he was.
He never liked him to begin with but due to his best friend Chan Hua who was Yi Ming's wife he had to maintain good relations with him
After the death of Chan Hua, Mr. Li broke off his ties with Song Yi Ming and never talked with him again.
Song Yi Ming too hated Li Zhao Yang(Mr. Li) more than the other. He always felt inferior and tried to compete with him all the time but failed miserably every time.
He also had another special reason for treating Zhao Yang coldly that he hid deep inside his heart.
As years passed it only made Song Yi Ming's hatred for Zhao Yang grow even stronger so after his wife's death he too didn't care about their superficial relationship with him.
...
Wang Bai Hu was dressed in a neat grey suit, his medium mullet which used to be midnight black was dyed to a deep purple shade.
Till yesterday he was busy doing world tours with his idol group 'Silver Stars'.
After knowing that Xin Yi was coming to the family meeting he couldn't stop himself from attending it even though he was too lazy to attend at first.
Bai Hu was carrying a bouquet full of Violets surrounded by white Primroses. He brought them to Xin Yi for three reasons.
One - They were the birth flowers of Xin Yi who was born in February.
Two - Those flowers mean everlasting love and faithfulness.
Three - Xin Yi loves them and Bai Hu was a fool for him.
He was looking around like a puppy who lost its master and when he found him talking with someone back in the garden, his eyes sparkled and his invisible tail wagged in happiness.
He immediately sprinted towards him and shoved those flowers into Xin Yi's hands suddenly,
"YiYi..."
The one talking with Xin Yi smiled and left the scene to give the love birds some privacy.
"Bai Hu... what are doing here? You said you were on tour-"
Xin Yi's words didn't finish as his lips were wetted by the big puppy in front of him.
Bai Hu cupped Xin Yi's face in his warm palms and captured his lips in an instant as he couldn't control his happiness at seeing his lover after almost a month.
Xin Yi didn't move he let his big puppy do whatever he wanted and kissed him back smiling.
After a while, he broke the kiss,
"YiYi...I missed you...so much."
Bai Hu's eyes were brimmed with tears.
Xin Yi smiled seeing his lover getting all emotional about their reunion.
"I missed you too."
With that Xin Yi hugged Bai Hu tightly still holding the bouquet of Violets and Primroses.
...
Wei Chen arrived late at the farmhouse as he had to attend an important meeting at the last minute.
He came along with more like forced to come along with Feng Mian who waited for Wei Chen in front of his company until he finished his work.
The car drive was so silent. Wei Chen was so tired from work that he fell asleep as soon as his head hit the soft cushion of the seat and the next second he was in a dreamland.
Where a small kitten was being teased by a bad red fox. The kitten was trying to run away but that cunning fox kept chasing it scaring the poor little kitten.
Wei Chen's eyelashes trembled as beads of sweat dripped down his temple.
Feng Mian heard the little whimpers of the other. He frowned as he sped up the car and stopped at the destination with a jolt waking up the small kitten-ahem Wei Chen.
"Get away you fox!"
Wei Chen screamed as he opened his eyes gasping for air.
Feng Mian was leaning his elbow on the steering and leisurely looking at Wei Chen in amusement.
"Fox?"
Wei Chen heard the voice glanced at the other and immediately looked away outside. He saw that they reached the farmhouse and got out of the car at once.
He still remembered the dream vaguely and understood that big cunning red fox was the devil in front of him.
>>>But why am I a small kitten? In the next dream I will be a tiger and scare that idiot fox, humph!
Wei Chen looked determined. Feng Mian took his hand and intertwined their fingers,
"Let's go."
"Like this?"
Wei Chen was puzzled as he tried to shake off the other's hand but in vain.
"Yes, why not?" Feng Mian asked with a hint of innocence.
His eyes trembled at that response. If he walked inside holding hands together that would be a disaster.
Even if it was just a meeting of families casually, there were people who could record them and leak them onto social media.
Which would of course cause an uproar in the high society.
He didn't want anyone to think something was going on between him and this arrogant Young Master Li Feng Mian.
Wei Chen hated just the thought of their names rolling together in the mouths of the public.
If that happened his father would seize the chance and make that news huge and would even shamelessly ask the Li's to take the responsibility.
That would result in becoming Feng Mian's Fiance just like how his little brother had to become the Fiance of Wang Mu Chen.
>>>Impossible! I and him? I will never let that happen even in dreams!
Wei Chen shook off his hand and distanced himself from Fang Mian.
"I know I have promised to accompany you while you are here in S city...but I don't want anyone here to see us together. So, I hope you will stay away from me, tonight."
"Is it a request?"
Feng Mian paused as his eyes darkened,
"...or an order?"
Wei Chen gulped his saliva seeing the expression on the other's face.
He knew Feng Mian was just acting to be a nice sunshine guy in front of everyone and behind that mask, he was hiding a monster inside him.
"Please..." Wei Chen's voice became so low, "...I will do any one thing you ask of me later. So can you please ...?"
Feng Mian's lips twitched as one side curled upwards more than the other side forming a lopsided smirk.
"Alright."
He agreed and stepped forward extending his hand to brush the hair strand that stuck out to the back of his ear,
"I am looking forward to that one thing you are gonna do to please me,"
Feng Mian whispered and walked inside whistling a tone in a happy mood.
Shocking Wei Chen whose limbs trembled as he couldn't forget that devilish satisfied look on the other's face.
>>>Did I dig my own grave?
...
"..."
Xiao Bo was still stunned sitting on the lap of Mu Chen hearing him call him 'Snowball' and teasing him shamelessly.
At that moment he forgot everything that had happened earlier. Even though he tried not to get involved with Mu Chen again in this life, that was just futile.
In the end, he became deeply entangled in the lives of the main protagonist more than his last life.
That was why he was still scared. As a villain whose end was a dreadful death would he be able to maintain these relationships with them in the long run?
He was doubtful. What if everything got messed up again and he would fall into the traps his Father set up for him?
Would Mu Chen, Xin Yi, and Shen Yu be still by his side just like now? Or would they end up hating him again? Could he prevent his Wei Dage's accident?
Xiao Bo clutched onto Mu Chen's shirt wrinkling it.
Mu Chen pulled his brows together seeing the smaller in his arms getting tensed again.
He noticed that the smaller's mood changed frequently. Most of the time, he would be anxious and trembling in fear of something.
He wanted Xiao Bo to open up to him and tell him all his worries so that he could solve everything for him and see him carefree and smile like sunshine.
>>>For that to happen, I need to break 'The Great Walls' of his heart first.
Mu Chen brushed Xiao Bo's hair.
"Is something bothering you, Snowball?"
Hearing such a gentle voice of the elder something twitched inside Xiao Bo.
He looked up staring into Mu Chen's eyes directly.
"Will you hate me in the future?"
"Uh, why will I?"
Mu Chen was flabbergasted by that sudden question yet he replied instantly.
"...um...w-what if... if... everyone starts blaming me... that I did some hateful things... will you believe them? Will you start hating me then?"
Xiao Bo asked as tears welled up in his eyes thinking about how everyone looked at him in disgust and hated him openly in his past life.
Mu Chen cupped the smaller's face with his one big warm hand, looking into his eyes with a contemplating expression on his face.
>>>Why is he scared of such things?
Then he remembered how everyone thought of him as a spoiled young master who whored around with old men.
Until he met Xiao Bo, he was too prejudiced about him believing all those rumors.
But the reality was cruel.
Xiao Bo wasn't a promiscuous and arrogant person but was a victim of high society men who made all those rumors to break him and submit to them when there would be no place in society for him.
Everyone trusted those lies and hated Xiao Bo without even trying to know the truth.
It was like that cause people just believed what they heard continuously and wouldn't waste their time trying to find out what was the fact, actually, they don't care about it all.
