"This is a meeting of great importance; no outsiders allowed." The man in black spoke without expression, his tone cold and stern.
Being stopped from entering her own turf was a first for Lu Yuxin, who frowned and said with a cold face, "I am Lu Yuxin, the CEO of Lu Group. Move aside!"
"We don't recognize any Lu Yuxin. The meeting inside is between the chairman and the shareholders, and no one is permitted to enter." The man in black remained impassive, paying no heed to her status as CEO.
Lin Feng did understand something about corporate structure; the CEO was not the highest position in a company. Appointed by the shareholders' meeting, the CEO held the highest managerial position, but normally shareholders did not partake in the management of the company unless major decisions required convening a shareholders' meeting.
Nevertheless, CEOs generally held some shares in the company, but as for how many Lu Yuxin owned, Lin Feng was unsure. The situation, however, was clear—someone was playing games to keep Lu Yuxin out of the shareholders' meeting, likely making decisions that would be unfavorable to her.
"Do you really need to go in?" Lin Feng asked quietly.
"Yes!" Lu Yuxin answered decisively and resolutely.
"Alright then, when things start to get chaotic, take the chance to rush in. Don't worry about me," Lin Feng said with a light smile, as if someone was about to be unlucky.
The man in black was neither deaf nor dumb; hearing this comment made directly in front of him, anyone would understand his intentions.
"Please leave!" Though his words were polite, his hand was anything but, pushing Lin Feng outright, with a calloused hand aiming straight for Lin Feng's face—a blatant offense.
Lin Feng dodged his head to the side and moved his feet. With a "bang," he delivered a kick to the man in black's groin, so fast that the man didn't have a chance to react before he was struck.
As the man in black doubled over in pain, Lin Feng followed with an uppercut straight to the chin, sending the man tumbling away.
The altercation happened so swiftly that by the time the man in black had rolled away, the others were only beginning to respond, rushing toward Lin Feng together.
"If not now, then when? Go!" Lin Feng called out in a low voice.
Lu Yuxin hesitated for a moment but then dashed forward. As some men in black moved to stop her, Lin Feng picked up his shoe and hurled it at them, causing them to become disoriented.
It was fortunate she had taken the pill Lin Feng gave her—Lu Yuxin not only felt no pain, but her limbs seemed quicker, and with Lin Feng's protection, she made it to the end of the corridor.
The instant she opened the door, Lu Yuxin looked back at Lin Feng only to see him overwhelmed by over a dozen men in black.
A feeling of unease welled up inside her, but she still charged into the meeting room with determination. To turn back now, after Lin Feng had worked so hard to create this opportunity, would not only waste his efforts but also leave her unable to rescue him.
She was not one of those indecisive little women. After rushing into the meeting room, she immediately locked the door behind her. She needed to focus on dealing with the matters inside, without interference from the men in black.
A heated debate seemed to be taking place inside the meeting room, and the appearance of Lu Yuxin left everyone stunned.
How had this woman breached the defense of over a dozen skilled bodyguards? This was the question perplexing all the shareholders.
Lu Yuxin steadied herself and quickly surveyed the situation inside the meeting room. Vaguely, it seemed that the shareholders were divided into three factions: the neutral party, the Rebels, and the chairman sitting alone at the head of the room.
"Mom..." Lu Yuxin suddenly called out to the chairman at the head of the table.
The chairman was a woman, a middle-aged beauty in a dignified and composed state, surrounded by "enemies" yet unfazed. She wore a long dress, so well-tailored that it highlighted her gracefully curvaceous figure.
Her skin showed no signs of aging; rather, it was fair and delicate, firm and lustrous, belying the mother of an adult daughter like Lu Yuxin—she looked more like a woman in her thirties in the prime of her life.
Facing the pressure from all the shareholders, she remained calm, her demeanor exuding an air of regal grace.
