Chapter 25 - Chapter 23: Nowhere to Bite, the Alleyway Bar

Five o'clock in the afternoon.

After school, Chu Feng and Wang Erbao took the bus to the four-story detached villa at the edge of the eastern part of Ninghe City, which belonged to the Wang Family.

Wang Erbao's parents were very strict with him, demanding that he be low-profile in his actions.

They forbid him from misusing the family name and wealth, insisting he even take public transportation home.

Whenever this was mentioned, Wang Erbao would become so angry that he'd jump up and down with frustration.

Located in a quiet neighborhood, the villa was surrounded by trees and plants that blocked out the sky, with the scorching sun bringing out the fragrance of the greenery.

Walking along the peaceful path to the villa, Chu Feng and his companion passed through the spacious living room.

The owner of the villa was very busy and owned many properties, so it had almost become their secret base.

As childhood friends, they had played in this house since they were little, and Chu Feng's visits were almost like coming to his own home.

Clambering up to the third floor, they squeezed into Wang Erbao's cluttered bedroom.

They expertly sprawled in front of the large holographic information terminal, busying themselves for quite some time.

Not until the sunset was low in the sky and evening approached did Wang Erbao finally exhale a satisfied breath, "Done!"

Chu Feng, looking at the holographic screen, eyes twinkling with an odd light.

His amazing memory quickly recorded all the information.

Shortly after, he patted Wang Erbao on the shoulder with a smile, "Thanks a lot. I'll treat you to dry chicken later! I'm out of here!"

Wang Erbao pushed his hand away with a smack and cursed,

"Dry chicken my ass, I haven't eaten it since we killed those demons last time!

"It made me sick to my stomach!"

He then glared at Chu Feng sidelong, "Don't you die out there, your head belongs to me!"

Chu Feng kicked him and retorted with a laugh, "Go to hell, you talk such crap, it stinks like fart, see you tomorrow morning!"

Saying that, he walked away directly.

Tonight, he had a lot of work to do.

After Chu Feng left, Wang Erbao, with his legs crossed, fiddled on the holographic screen with his hands, humming a tune and browsing through the info related to the Ding Family's Ding Bowen.

He exclaimed from time to time, "Damn, how can this bastard live so luxuriously?"

"Shit, really worthy of the Ding Family, the most unscrupulous money-makers, and they have an underground training facility too? Real beasts!"

He wore headphones the whole time, completely unaware that a graceful figure had been standing behind him, watching him fiddle for a long time.

Not until a hand slapped down on Wang Erbao's shoulder did he let out a startled "Ao" and leap up, turning around to throw a punch.

Then his entire body was pinned to the desk with a "bang" by a slender and fair hand, ruthlessly suppressed.

Wang Erbao struggled to look back and said in astonishment, "Sis, how come you're back? Weren't you in Yan Capital?"

A crisp voice sounded, "Chu Feng was here just now, wasn't he? What are you two conspiring about?

"Don't lead him astray!"

Wang Erbao clamped his mouth shut, determined that even if he were beaten to death today, even if he had to jump out the window, he wouldn't spill a single piece of information!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

"Aoaoaoao—Don't hit me!! Someone's going to die here ahhh—"

...

At eight o'clock in the evening, the sky had darkened.

Chu Feng wore a black hoodie with the hood pulled down and a mask over his face.

He hid in a corner far away from the Ding Family's villa, quietly observing the surroundings.

This villa was situated on the southeastern side of Ning River and was also at the edge of the city center.

But compared to Wang Erbao's home, it was incredibly larger, with just the yard looking to be over a thousand square meters!

The surrounding wall was very high, topped with a two-meter-high ring of barbed wire.

Security cameras were hung all over the wall, and inside, guards with wolves patrolled back and forth.

The streets outside the wall in all four directions were deserted and completely visible, with few trees to be seen.

The streetlights illuminated the area so brightly that even a cat passing by could be seen distinctly.

'Damn, why is the Ning Family so cautious, prickly like a hedgehog with no place to bite!'

Chu Feng thought to himself and moved to the vicinity of the main entrance, discovering that the defense was still impenetrable, which made him scratch his head involuntarily.

Even if he got past the wall, there was still the vast garden inside.

How could he enter the villa without triggering the alarm?

He didn't realize that the Ding Family's ostentatious wealth drew much attention.

The descendants had once suffered an abduction by an unlawful Martial Artist, so they greatly valued security.

As Chu Feng gazed at the Ding Family's flawlessly fortified mansion, he sighed softly, somewhat unwilling to give up, "Is there really no chance left?"

"Erbao mentioned that Ding Bowen will soon be sent to another city. After that, it'll be like finding a needle in a haystack!"

He couldn't accept that someone who had once tried to harm him was still living in this world, possibly scheming against him again at any moment!

Although Ding Bowen was a discarded member of the Ding Family, given the lavishness of the Ding Family, it was unlikely they would truly let him start from scratch at the bottom.

They would certainly allocate a portion of personnel and resources to him.

His mother, Liu Rong's Liu Family, was also not an ordinary family.

With such a background, Ding Bowen would still be able to mobilize considerable resources.

And judging by his actions and words, he was obviously a narrow-minded and petty person.

Such people, as long as they are capable, will definitely find ways to strike at their enemies.

If overt methods don't work, then covert ones will!

On Blue Star, Martial Arts flourish, and there are many hidden Martial Artists among the civilians, making the underworld very powerful.

Many unlawful Martial Artist organizations accept illegal commissions both in reality and on the dark web.

The likes of the "Dark Flower" Erbao has mentioned are a type of assassination commission, posted on authoritative institutions of the dark web.

Martial Artists who kill the target can upload evidence and, after verification by the institution, receive the corresponding bounty.

Erbao is a relatively honest child. If he knows about this, how could someone as treacherous as Ding Bowen not understand?

Chu Feng certainly didn't want to be constantly attacked by unknown Martial Artists and never have peace in his life.

Where is there a reason to guard against thieves every day?

Chu Feng kept his cool and decided to observe a little longer for an opportunity.

If not, then after the Martial Arts Grand Exam, he would stake out for a while longer.

You, Ding Bowen, can't possibly never leave the house, can you?

Just then, a luxury car slowly drove out of the gate.

Chu Feng hid in the corner, peering stealthily, and suddenly his eyes lit up!

As the car window slowly rose, Ding Bowen's face was unexpectedly revealed!

The window glass closed, and the target's face disappeared from view, but Chu Feng's heart was thrillingly uplifted.

Good lad, out the door as soon as he mentioned it, how spirited!

There was that incident during the day, yet at night, he's out having fun, truly a restless one!

Chu Feng watched from afar as the car departed, swiftly and silently following it.

Not long after he left, a figure dressed in all black appeared at his previous hiding spot, looking in the direction he had gone.

The car headed west and stopped beside a run-down street.

Ding Bowen, wearing a duckbill cap, got out of the car and said to the driver,

"Uncle Zhang, take a break here. I'll go have some fun."

The driver, Uncle Zhang, asked, "Do you need me to follow you?"

Ding Bowen waved his hand, "No need. It's Black Tiger Gang territory; there are plenty of tough guys inside, very safe."

With that, he walked directly into a small alley.

In the middle of the decrepit alleyway, there surprisingly stood a bar with a sign flashing gaudy neon lights.

Two tattooed bouncers stood at the door, yawning with sheer boredom.

As Ding Bowen approached, the two looked at him irritably, "Who referred you?"

Ding Bowen lifted his cap, cursing quietly, "Blind? Open the door!"

The bouncers, taken aback, bowed and scraped as they opened the bar's door, "Please come in, Young Master Ding!"

"It's been a while since we last saw you!"

Ding Bowen waved them off and swaggered in.

After seeing off Ding Bowen, the bouncers closed the door carefully. One spat on the ground,

"Putting on airs for what? He's about to be kicked out of the family, and still out carousing!"

The other laughed, "No matter how down and out he is, he's still way above us. We can't afford to offend him, keep your voice down."

The first one whispered, "That guy is heartless and ruthless. Just a few weeks ago, he literally played someone to death.

"Is that how all the rich folks are?"

The other one pursed his lips, "Pretty much, all the rats in the world are equally black!"

Above their heads, Chu Feng, dressed in black, crouched on the edge of a small building's rooftop, eyes scanning back and forth across the alley.
