Chapter 28 - Chapter 26: Foundation Establishment Steward Takes Action, First Glimpse of a True Soldier

On the main road outside the alley, three black luxury sedans slowly drove in.

The cars came to a slow stop at the mouth of the alley, and the passengers got out one by one.

A muscular man in a black suit opened the rear door of the second car.

"Click."

Long legs clad in blue-gray trousers and black leather shoes stepped out onto the ground.

A vicious face then emerged from the car door.

This short-haired man's face bore a massive scar that ran from the upper left to the lower right, spanning his entire cheek.

The scar was red and flushed, twisting into disgusting folds as the short-haired man's expressions changed.

Two burly men guarding the bar were already standing at the entrance of the alley.

Upon seeing the short-haired man, they immediately jogged over, nodding and bowing:

"Big Boss Lei, you're back. Steward Yan has already arranged supper for you!"

Gao Lei, a senior deacon of the Black Tiger Gang, nodded and said to the muscular men in black suits gathered around the sedan:

"Brothers, you've all worked hard on the road, go find yourselves some fun!"

"Thank you, Big Boss Lei!" The men in black suits relaxed.

Gao Lei glanced at the two doormen and asked out of habit, "Nothing's happened inside, has it?"

He asked the same question every time he came, and everyone was used to it.

The doormen patted their chests and said, "With three stewards keeping watch, who would dare make trouble?

"We've been guarding the door; we'd never dare to slack off!

"If anything happens, we'll come see you with our heads in our hands!"

"Whoosh——"

"Awooo——ow——"

As the words fell, a waiter wielding a knife suddenly flew out of the bar in the alley, smashing the glass door to bits!

After crashing into the wall of the alley, the waiter's body bounced to the ground, rolling around and groaning in pain.

The two doormen turned their heads, wide-eyed and slack-jawed at the sight, completely at a loss for words.

What's the situation?

Is there a mutiny?

We've just made an oath, and you pull this stunt?

All of a sudden, why does it feel like our heads no longer belong to us?

An angry snort from Gao Lei came from behind them, and the two men couldn't help but shiver, their faces turning pale.

"Hm?"

...

Chu Feng sped out of the stairs, but the next second, a flash of bright knife light slashed towards him!

The blade was fast but not enough in his eyes.

A limbo-like move dodged the blade, and he straightened up sharply.

His short sword swiftly swung, grazing past the knife-holding waiter's neck.

"Hiss hiss——"

The familiar sound rang out again, the waiter's long knife dropped to the ground.

He staggeredly stepped back, clutching at his neck, which was half-slit open.

Chu Feng swept his gaze across the hall and saw that the waiters had drawn their weapons.

Rushing at him with swords and knives raised, hatred in their eyes, they shouted:

"Stop! Daring to cause trouble on Black Tiger Gang's turf, you're asking for death!"

All the waiters were Martial Apprentices at the level of Martial Artists.

'I can't get caught up with them; I need to break out quickly!' Chu Feng thought with a chill, switching his short sword to his left hand.

With a flick of his foot, he picked up the dead waiter's long sword and gripped it in his hand.

Then, with sword in left and knife in right, he charged directly at the waiters blocking the exit.

He moved through the crowd like a snake weaving through the grass, nimbly navigating among the people.

Everywhere he passed, waiters wailed as they fell or were kicked away.

They clutched at their legs, arms, chests, bellies, and heads, screaming non-stop.

To conserve energy, Chu Feng did not kill them all but aimed to incapacitate them so they couldn't fight back.

Yet for those who were stubborn and desperately tried to stop him, Chu Feng obliged their wish and sent them to their deaths.

After a fierce bout of killing, the attendants lay scattered on the floor behind him, their wails echoing through the hall.

In the corridor, some guests watched from a distance.

Chu Feng's ears twitched as he heard a great number of footsteps approaching rapidly from both the rooftop and the downstairs.

'Enemy reinforcements are coming, time is of the essence!'

With a grave expression, Chu Feng took down the last enemy blocking his path and charged straight for the main entrance.

But the next second, his expression changed as he forcefully twisted his body, altering his direction.

"Boom!"

A hidden iron door was buried underneath the ground in front of the main entrance!

At that moment, the iron door was blasted open by a tremendous force, flipping the flooring that covered it.

The door slammed onto the ground with a bang, and then a burly man with his chest bared jumped out from the iron door.

The burly man hooked a foot onto the iron door and glanced at Chu Feng with a look of disdain, spitting out:

"I thought some mighty fairy had come to cause trouble in our stronghold, turns out it's just a student!

"You've interrupted my fun and dared to kill in the Black Tiger Gang's territory!

"Kid, remember to show your colors more clearly in your next life!"

The surviving attendants breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing him.

"Steward Zhang!"

"That kid is the intruder!"

This was one of the three Foundation Establishment Stage Stewards, but... in terms of Qi and oppressive aura, he still didn't compare to Big Beard who had appeared alongside Jia Ren.

Chu Feng assessed the enemy's identity and strength, and just as he was about to make a move,

"Bang!" Another explosion sounded.

Another iron door opened in the ceiling of the great hall behind him, shattering the hall's chandelier.

A slim figure jumped down from above, impatiently twirling a dagger, "What bold stray dares run wild here?"

More surprised shouts of joy came from behind.

"Steward Yan has arrived too!"

"Perfect, now the kid can't escape!"

Chu Feng turned his head and looked back with a deadpan expression, "What is this design, a rat hole?"

Steward Zhang rotated his neck, sneering, "Pretty calm, aren't you? Is your trump card strong, or do you have a powerful backer?

"This setup is specifically designed to trap little rats like you!"

Chu Feng shrugged and replied calmly with a smile, "Strong or not, why don't you come and find out?"

Steward Zhang laughed heartily, "Wait till I break your arms and legs, then I'll really test you out!"

He exchanged a glance with Steward Yan, then suddenly stomped his foot and charged at Chu Feng!

Chu Feng met Steward Zhang head-on with a cold smile.

His right hand swung a blade horizontally at the steward's neck, while his left-hand dagger went straight for his abdomen.

Steward Zhang laughed heartily, "Boy, daring to show off such fancy blade and dagger skills in front of me, I... fuck!"

"Clang!"

A loud noise instantaneously filled the hall as Chu Feng's blade struck squarely into Steward Zhang's palm, sparking a shower of sparks.

Steward Zhang cried out in pain, quickly retreating, cradling his violently trembling right hand with his left, his face drained of color.

He had seen Chu Feng's blade light and sword shadow and wanted to disdainfully block them.

Instead, he fell for Chu Feng's ruse and was squarely chopped by the suddenly intensified blade!

Now his palm was in excruciating pain, feeling as if his bones were shattered, and his whole arm had gone numb.

"What the fuck? Bulletproof?" Chu Feng was also taken aback; how could sparks fly from a hand that blocked a blade?

On closer inspection, he saw that the burly man was wearing a thin pair of grey gloves!

The gloves were so thin they were nearly translucent, showing the palm prints within.

With the entrance area dimly lit, Chu Feng had not noticed them at all until now.

His whole person was somewhat stunned. How could such thin gloves block his blade?

Steward Zhang shook his hand, feeling that his palm was still painfully numb, and stared at Chu Feng warily.

Watching Chu Feng stare blankly at his gloves, and seeing that his colleagues would soon arrive, the burly man was content to delay the time. He sneered, "Kid, this is a True Soldier, ever seen one before?"

Chu Feng came to a sudden realization.
