I was about to open the door when it swung open and in walked Sampson with a baseball bat and a bad attitude.
I took a baton whack to the back that knocked me into Sampson's arms. The man dwarfed me. Sampson twisted with me in the arms and took the next strike meant for me before pushing me to the side and rushing into the fray with the bat raised, but I wasn't done with these guys yet. I still had some frustration to work off, not the least of which was about the hell Teela was going to raise when she saw my back after the baton strike.
I grabbed the guy nearest me and went to town on him while Sampson took care of the other two guards. We left them alive, but they would regret having ever met us.
"Let's go," Sampson said.
"We can help the others."
"No can do. My orders are to take you to safety."
"But what about Colby and the other children?"
