Suddenly we were transported on to a floating island high up in the sky where all we could see were clouds. The island was as big as an entire continent, we couldn't see Michael anymore but above the island was a small hut like building.
"Welcome to your training grounds. There are exactly four levels here, the first one is a maze. You are to find your guardian angel to progress to the next level, the next one is a river, the both of you are to work together and cross the river to move to the third level where I have put a little surprise there...." Michael started to explain but abruptly stopped, leaving a bit of suspense in the air.
"You and your guardian angel are to use your rhemas to overpower them and advance to a canopy walk which you are to cross over to the finish line where I will be there to congratulate you personally." He continued, what is this a competition?
"May the best come out first." He concluded and once again we were transported into the maze. Well I couldn't see anyone, it's like everyone got their own separate maze. The maze was made up flowers ranging from roses to daisies to marigolds. I was about tell Azrael how beautiful the garden looked but I turned realising that he wasn't by me, oh right. I'm supposed to look for, how am I suppose to do that in this huge puzzle. Suddenly I felt a surge of energy in me, I looked at my hands and realized I was glowing. It was a dim light but as I continued walking it felt stronger until I realised that the light emitting from my body was leading me to a certain direction. The more I followed the stronger the glow and its warmth, after nearly thirty minutes of walking I felt like I was burning. The light pointed to one more direction. Left, I started to run mostly because I thought my body would burn within seconds. I saw Azrael in the middle of the maze holding a dandelion, staring at it with a deep interest and having a sad smile on his face. He finally looked up and spotted me and threw the flower away.
"That was quick." He said, he led me out of the maze and we saw a wooden door with bronze handles. He opened it and we saw one of the longest rivers in the world, it was running at rapid currents and the rocks on it looked very slippery, I promise I saw some of them disappearing. We started hopping on them, that is until I slipped and nearly fell into the mainstream luckily Azrael caught me just in time and he carried me on his back until we reached the next level, which had a bronze door and iron handles. I was about to open it but Azrael stopped me and for some reason put his ear to the wall.
"Demons." He suddenly said.
"Huh?" I asked.
"The surprise are demons, low ranking ones to be precise." He explained and then he made me say my rhema before entering so that I'd be a bit prepared.
"2 Timothy 1:7 : For God did not put the spirit of timidity in us but rather the power of love to conquer it." Suddenly, a blinding light started appearing from my hand and then I saw a medium length sword with a golden handle, on the blade was written : Love, I looked at Azrael who was holding a scythe.
"Ready?" He asked while holding the handle of the door, I took in a deep breath and nodded. Azrael opened the door and we barged in, the room had poor lighting but that was the least of our problems why? You may be asking, well the door disappeared. We started walking when suddenly something told me to swing my sword left, I swung it with all my might and felt it slice flesh in two, a cry of pain followed. I looked on my sword and saw blood on it and then out of nowhere we saw hideous demons come out of all angles, some had eight eyes others had tentacles for legs and some were just heads. On instinct I charged at the demons at my right side and started cutting through their bodies, I could tell the demons fighting Azrael were having a hard time, I literally had to dodge demon attacks while their dead allies bodies were being hurled at them by Azrael. I was cutting, stabbing and slicing through demons, we finally made to the last door that was made out of iron and had golden handles. Azrael opened the door as I entered and threw my sword at the last demon straight in the head, my sweet instantly returned to me. Finally the canopy walk, I thought it would be a simple walk in the park but I was wrong, that thing looked unstable. Azrael wanted me to go first but I forcefully insisted that he goes first, I tried my best not to look below but the canopy was wobbly like spaghetti. I found myself nearly falling, but I firmly held the support ropes and then I looked down and realized that this canopy was even higher than the island like maybe 169ft higher. I don't know what happened but then I felt tears streaming down my eyes to my cheeks and finally to the floor.
"Angelina?" I heard Azrael scream my name, he must have realised that I wasn't behind him. I couldn't reply back.
"Angelina?!" He said again "Are you okay?" He asked.
"I'm scared, Azrael I'm scared." I found myself screaming whilst choking on my tears. I thought this was all a dream so I closed my eyes but the bridge became more wobbly.
"God, please save me." I thought while still crying, then I felt a hand brush over my face, I opened my eyes to see Azrael.
"Hold my hand and let's do this together." He said while holding my hand, I started walking slowly with him. Then I told myself to trust Azrael that he wouldn't let go, my heartbeat moved back to regular beats and the fear I had was suddenly gone. We made back to the original training grounds and suprise suprise. We were last, I heard a snicker from one of the others. I didn't care though, I was just happy to be alive but Michael came up to us.
"Congrats, on the canopy walk." He said to us, I was stunned isn't he suppose to congratulate the winners I was about to tell him but he stopped me.
"I already congratulated the winners, but I saw what happened on the canopy walk with you two and I was moved since you were able to put your full trust in Azrael and Azrael came to your aid. I can see why God paired you two together." Michael explained. I was speechless but before I could thank Michael I heard a snort from the same voice that snickered earlier, I turned and saw a girl with pink hair, dark skin and purple eyes dressed in a pastel gothic fashion which included a black eye patch. I lost my cool and marched straight to her.
"What's funny?" I rudely asked her, she was taken a back before regaining her composure.
"Well I'm surprised that Archangel Michael has time for someone like you." She replied while placing her finger on my nose, I removed her finger.
"At least he doesn't have time for rude idiots like you." I shot back staring her right in the eye. I could see a purple flame in her eye.
"Are you trying to pick a fight?" She asked.
"If shoving my hand through your throat is considered as a fight then yes " I replied threateningly. I could feel my fingers clenching into a fist, just before I could punch her Tyler stood in between us to prevent any fight.
"Woah, Angelina. Don't mind her, we came here to know eachother not fight." He told me then turned to the girl.
"Lia, watch your mouth before I sew it up for you." Tyler told her before walking with me, Azrael and Sachiel to our houses (Sachiel is Tyler's guardian angel). It was night time when Azrael and I arrived home, mom and dad were out for the night and Ezra was asleep.
"Azrael, thanks." I told him as I was about to sleep.
"For what?" He asked confused.
"For helping me cross the canopy." I replied. He looked at me and smiled while saying:
"What are friends for?"
