Chapter 3 - I'm a monster

Day 3

The world is too loud, I'm barely functioning. But I hear screams. Ricky's screams

He cries and cries and cries. In pain.

I can hear humans nearby. I know I have to run, I don't want to get caught.

Because if I'm caught, hell will rain upon me. I'm not someone who fits this world's standard, and as such, the world doesn't like me very much.

So, with the last of my energy, I run from my alleyway.

There's a fence in my way, but how would that ever stop me. I hop over it and contemplate.

What's the point of fences? They don't seem to do much.

But apparently they do stop the people behind me.

Quite proud of myself, I must say, leaving them behind.

But as I look around, I realize I am in an environment I don't know.

I may have escaped but I am in deep s***.

The buildings here are tall. Too tall. They feel overwhelmed, and I feel trapped.

I skuttle past shops and people, hiding in the shadows. But concealing myself doesn't last long.

A human sees me and screams.

Rude.

I do suppose my sight isn't pleasant, but they could be nicer.

Yet suddenly, I remember a simple fact.

Even though I've lived here ten years, I am not one of them.

I'm a monster.

So I run and hide.
