Landon stepped into the dirt with his high-end leather shoes. The dust picked up as the wind rolled and the morning sun heatedly shone down on him.
The biting heat seemed to mock Landon's sudden nervousness as he stood on the main street of the small town. He tried to disguise his appearance as much as he could to look like a local, but his presence seemed too conspicuous as a bear in the middle of a busy street.
He'd spent a few days in Virela City, much to Alaric's displeasure. His secretary's task of mingling with investors and potential business partners had already ended on the day he arrived there. But with his boss there, he couldn't possibly leave alone.
Landon walked toward the first person he could find. But just like how he started when he first arrived, he received a disappointing answer.
Still, giving up now that he had gone so far would be out of his character.
