"How can you kick me so daringly? I will take you to court." The fatty had left Leo completely dumbfounded. Leo wanted to beat Fat Face to a pulp after witnessing how someone had embarrassed his family.
"I apologize for upsetting you. Nevertheless, I must ask you a question." Leo still needed to check on something, but all he wanted to do was get away from him quickly.
Fatty continued to rub his buttocks, looking funny. "Khek, what are you asking of me?" He turned away from Leo, fear evident in his narrowed eyes.
"Slow down. I do not want to hurt you. To begin with, what time did you wake up? Additionally, have you heard any shady outside activity?" Leo questioned directly and pointedly.
"Did you also fall asleep in the afternoon?" fatty asked, squinting his eyes wide. "I assumed that I had simply fallen asleep from exhaustion." But he winced when he saw Leo's icy gaze. "In the middle of the night, I woke up. It was, I think, around three in the morning."
'It indicates that he slept for about twelve hours. And I woke up twelve hours after him. Oh no, I slept for a full day. I hope Adam is doing well.' Leo got serious. When the voice came, he briefly felt relieved that he had locked himself in his room; otherwise...
Leo grimaced at the realization. "Moreover, why were you always here? Did you not hear any sounds coming from the hallway?"
"Nope... Even though I spent the entire night in my room, I cursed my noisy neighbors. While I was asleep, they went insane. Some students were even chasing after other students when I peered through the window. I then shut myself in my room." Fatty spoke in a terrified tone.
"So, what did you do last night? You would not have spent the entire evening watching porn, after all. In addition, I believed the internet had stopped functioning. Then, how did you even watch porn? What did you eat, too?" Leo asked, casting a strange glance at Fatty.
Fatty looked at him strangely and blushed, "Of course not! I'm not a pervert of any kind. It was merely... Yes, I was under stress. In any case, my laptop is loaded with my favorite videos. In order to relax, I also consumed some snacks that I had kept in my room."
Leo sighed lightly, realizing he was dealing with an exceptionally peculiar student. "All right, now. I'm out of questions now. I wish you luck in surviving." Leo turned to leave the dorm and said, waving his hand.
"Hold on a moment. Are you familiar with that voice at all? What about evolution or the Holocaust theory? How did all of the students fare?" Frantically, Fatty enquired. Since Leo was the only other rational student he had encountered since waking up, fatty reasoned that he ought to know something. Leo should know what's going on outside, at least.
Leo paused, taking a moment to consider before facing Fatty. "Since you responded to some of my questions, I figure it would be fair to respond to some of yours as well. Have you read any Chinese fantasy novels that combine themes of evolution and the end of the world?"
"I read a lot of them in high school, of course." fatty appeared to be pleased with his interests.. Leo learned a lot more from his room than from any other words. There were images and figurines of two-dimensional characters everywhere. He appeared to be the kind of person who was genuinely interested in it.
"Then you ought to be familiar with some fundamental concepts like mutant monsters, zombies, and the system. The end of the world had come, even though you might not want to admit it. Everywhere you look, there are zombies eating people." Leo clarified.
"End of the world? A zombie population? Then the person you killed was actually a..." Fatty questioned in disbelief.
"That's right, a zombie." Leo attempted to say it in a lighthearted manner, but it came across as creepier than he had anticipated.
"...Then, it provides extensive explanations for students' violent behavior. Well... you ought to have a destination in mind or a strategy in place given that you have already killed one and are now lost outside." Fatty spoke quickly when saying it. Then, he looked at Leo with beseeching eyes, and his eyes gleamed. "I should accompany you,"
'Well, he's not as dimwitted as I initially believed. However, he appears feeble.' Leo looked at fatty, thinking to himself. Fatty appeared to lack an athletic build, had a plump body, and stood five feet tall.
"Not at all. Why should we go together? You are of no use to me; you will only make me weak." To be honest, Leo did not think fatty would be all that helpful, so he was not sure if he should bring him along. He had no duty to save Fatty; he was not some kind of hero. It was not his work; it was the police's.
"Nooo... I swear that I won't take you along. You are free to throw me away at the first hint of danger if you so choose." With a panic, Fatty said.
Leo was forced to reconsider his views on fatty after hearing him speak. At least it's encouraging to know that he appears to be decisive.
...However, it was insufficient to endure. Even the most determined individuals can meet a tragic end. Leo turned away from fatty and made plans to leave.
"Hold on a moment. I am not completely useless; I can help you. I possess a quality known as innate ability." Fatty attempted to impede Leo. Fatty had no idea how useful it would be, but it was all he had.
Leo was taken aback upon hearing him, as he had never imagined encountering someone with a special ability in this place. To the best of his knowledge, individuals can be either evolutionaries or ability holders. Evolvers are those who have increased their stats, and ability holders are those who have awakened an innate ability.
Although each of them has advantages of their own, Leo did not relate to any of them in his former life. He was very envious of those who had special abilities or stat boosts. To meet someone who had awakened at the beginning was even more uncommon. After a period of acclimating to the mana in the air, people typically wake up.
"What innate ability do you have?" With interest, Leo inquired.
