With fear in their eyes, all eyes turned to the library door as it banged open. The door creaked and bent, tightly shut and strong enough to hold off ten or more regular zombies.
Leo sighed deeply to quiet his racing heart and unzipped his leather bag, knowing what lay ahead. He had prepared something special just for this kind of occasion.
"Leo, how are you doing this? This is not the moment to go through your stock." Shaking slightly, Willie noticed that Leo was looking for something in his bag and wasn't sure what to do. The situation was not unfolding as he had hoped.
The door looked sorry for itself. Leo silently poured the liquid from the white bottle onto the blade of his sword while everyone else watched. Leo put it on his rusty sword and then handed it to Willie.
"Wa... what the heck is that?" Having recognized the bottle, Willie was dumbfounded. He failed to grasp how it would be beneficial in their current situation.
"This bleach is extremely concentrated." Leo did, in fact, pour bleach over his sword. While purchasing food and water, he purchased them from a market. He then gave Willie the white bottle. "You have to pour it on the monster when I say it. Do you understand, right?"
Willie swallowed nervously. At first, he assumed that Leo was just playing tricks on him. However, when he realized that Leo was serious, his expression changed. Though he was still unclear about how it would benefit them, he nodded his head.
At last, the doors burst open, revealing a massive zombie in its place. It was a massive monster, standing two and a half meters tall, with muscles as thick as barbed wire. It obstructed their path outside as it strode slowly in their direction.
"What on earth is that?" Oliver became alarmed as he noticed a massive zombie approaching him. They could hardly believe that there was a student of that size on their campus; none of them had ever seen a monster like this in their lives.
Fearful of the creature, Oliver's initial thought was to shove the nearest person into the zombie's path and flee while it was busy snatching up a student in front of him. It was easy to get past the giant because it moved even more slowly than regular zombies, especially when it had a free meal in front of it to divert its attention.
Leo watched a scene he knew well and scowled at him, remembering bad things from his former life. Oliver was trash, and he thought he should be eaten a hundred times. It was a male student at the time, but in the past, Oliver had shoved Leo in the path of a giant.
The other students quickly began to scatter through the hallway, avoiding the enormous monster as they hurriedly dashed towards the exit after witnessing Oliver's ability to elude it.
They weren't as fortunate as Oliver, though. The enormous monster was able to capture another student with its enormous hands after finishing the male student in multiple gulps. It was a clumsy girl student now.
It seemed unable to gauge the strength with which it was holding the female student in its hand as it squeezed her until she died. She had been crushed to death, her blood spilling into the gaping mouth of a giant, turning her into a gory mess. It then threw her corpse into its maw as well.
There were only three left in the library. Leo was aware that the giant would kill at least one of them if they attempted to flee at this time. Leo could get out of it on his own, but he cannot risk his friend's life.
Besides, he had come here knowing full well that he was going to fight with it. Since he had no idea how frequently he would encounter an evolved zombie, he couldn't pass up the chance to kill one.
Leo remained composed, even though the giant zombie could have killed him in a single blow. Such zombies he had slain in a previous life. All he had to do was keep it from hitting him. Although strength type zombies moved more slowly than regular zombies, Leo could be killed by one hit from them.
To beat a giant, he had even increased his agility attribute. Even though it was only one point, the one-point boost in agility was crucial to his survival because he had to avoid every attack.
Leo charged the giant and swung his sword. He sidestepped the giant's fist, leaving a shallow cut on its chest and leaving an imprint of his fist on the ground. Leo would have perished immediately if he had been struck by it.
Its chest wound, which was quite shallow, began to hiss and churn, giving off gas. The giant, sensing a tiny tinge, let out a loud roar and attempted to seize Leo with its enormous hands. Leo evaded its assault and lured him towards the library's entrance.
Leo knew how a zombie attacked, so dodging its blows wasn't too big of a deal.
"Willie, Noww…!" Now that the giant had turned its back on Adam and Willie, Leo yelled at Willie to douse the giant in bleach. It roared in agony, ignoring Leo, and turned to face Willie, who was the nearest person to him.
Willie's face instantly paled as he met its eyes, sending shivers down his spine. He was afraid of dying, though he'd said Leo could throw him away if necessary.
Leo took advantage of Willie's distraction to charge towards the giant and sever the tendons on his knees. The giant was too tall for him, but he wanted to aim directly at its head. Its face was downcast as it lost its balance and fell to the ground.
Leo stomped on its back and thrust his rusty sword through its head. The giant's body went limp as his sword pierced its brains, and it stopped resisting. It is still alive, even though the shock from the brain damage rendered it paralyzed.
Although the creature's head detached from its body and rolled on the ground, Leo successfully decapitated it after exerting significant effort. A slightly bigger orb of blue light pierced Leo's body as it died.
