The name Mrs. Pink wasn't too surprising, since the woman's only defining feature was her color. The Artist was a bit more confusing, but neither Billie nor Gerald questioned it too much.
They felt overwhelmed by everything, so before either could react, the gray man spoke.
"I'm Mr. Gray. Nice to meet you."
He sounded much less enthusiastic and reserved. His voice differed from the woman's, too. There was no reverberation or weird formlessness to it.
The voice just had an unyielding authority to it, like a judge declaring a sentence.
Billie and Gerald looked at each other, and following the examples, they introduced themselves.
For a long moment Billie stared at her hands, then just shrugged and said, "Well, then I guess I'm Miss Blue. Nice to meet you, Mr. Gray and Mrs. Pink."
Only now did she realize that her own voice wasn't normal either. It sounded more aloof and mysterious, like she looked down on everyone.
