Standing in a dark corridor, Zhou Mingchen furrowed his brows, straining to see a dim light flickering in the distance.
"Dad."
He hadn't walked far when he realized the person in front of him was Zhou Jingwen. Backlit, his face shadowed and features indistinct, Zhou Mingchen recognized him immediately, certain in his heart that it was Zhou Jingwen.
"Dad," he called again, and Zhou Jingwen never responded, but slowly retreated backward.
As he stepped back, Zhou Mingchen moved forward, trying to take another step but feeling as though someone controlled his movements. The two maintained a constant distance, wandering the dark corridor for a very long time.
The faint light grew closer until it was nearly right in front of him; Zhou Jingwen, silent throughout, finally vanished into the harsh brightness.
