The banquet host was a burly middle-aged man, who Xia Lu guessed must be at least in his early fifties based on the grayness of his hair. The middle-aged man had a tall stature and a voice of potent penetration, showcasing that he was accustomed to speaking on various occasions.
"Thank you all for attending this dinner," he began, and as if on cue, everyone simultaneously halted their conversations. "Everyone seated here is a prominent figure in their respective fields, and there is only one purpose that brings us together today, which I believe is the reason everyone is here."
