Three days had passed since Xia Lu had last seen Zhou Mingchen at the dining table, and she had no idea what kept him busy from dawn till dusk.
Both ate their meal in silence, neither starting a conversation.
As usual, Zhang Ma placed a bowl of tonic in front of Zhou Mingchen, a routine that hadn't been missed for the past few days.
He looked up and quickly noticed that this was a treatment meant only for him, "Serve a bowl for Xia Lu as well."
Xia Lu shook her head vigorously, "I don't want it, there's still a pile in the fridge. Keep it all for yourself and take your time drinking it."
What kind of talk was that? When Granny Zhou had brought it, she had instructed that it was for both of them to share, it made no sense for just one person to have it all.
"Sir, the lady finds it too bitter and doesn't want to drink it, don't force her," Zhang Ma also spoke up for Xia Lu.
