Shao Meiru saw Zhou Mingchen and immediately put on a smile.
"Achen, I haven't seen you for quite a while. What have you been busy with recently?"
"Work." His response was as succinct as ever.
Xia Lu began to feel that she had been making a mountain out of a molehill. It seemed that Zhou Mingchen was just naturally reticent, not specifically towards her.
Early in the morning, Zhou Mingchen had been pulled aside by Grandma Zhou, and she took a seat next to him.
Under the table, Shao Meiru nudged Zhou Jingxian gently. "Since Achen is here today, why don't we just clear things up all at once?"
Zhou Jingxian frowned slightly but did not respond.
"Here, try this fish-flavored eggplant. It was your favorite dish when you were little." Grandma Zhou placed the aromatic dish of fish-flavored eggplant in front of Zhou Mingchen.
"Thank you."
