LUELLA TURNED back to the door she snuck out from. She knew there was a secret passage on that floor, because of Irene. When they were little, Irene created the passage, just to take Luella out to play anything she was grounded.
But she was surprised to know it was still there, as she believed the late duke had blocked it.
Inside the passage, Luella remembered seeing the dried up flow petals in it.
"The road is just there, My lady." He pointed to the open gap.
Luella nodded. And with Tedric beside her, she walked confidently inside the creepy-looking woods.
