" How do I look, Lettuce ? " Astrid asked as she looked into the mirror.
" People should pay you to have their eyes blessed with your beauty. " Typical Violetta.
" You little flirt, tell me honestly. " Astrid Snickers.
" You should blend blush a little better, spread it a little more. And, my friend, highlighters are just not meant for your cheekbones. It looks like someone punched you. " Violetta, the make-up queen, finally gave an honest opinion.
" Okay. " Astrid said as she intently looked into the mirror. Its better to hear criticism from a friend than have people make fun of you behind your back.
Nelle and Aria, in the other room, were brushing each other's hair. Siya on the other hand couldn't decide what to wear. She had been rummaging through everybody's closet for over 2 hours now.
" I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR !!! " Siya exclaimed in frustration. Digging through her friend's closet was futile. But, Siya needs a good outfit for the last night of the cultural festival.
The cultural event was open to all students across the nation, except for the last night of the festival. The last night is a high-profile event exclusive to the students of the university. It includes the students and guests that the university specifically invites.
It is an event that uses a party as an excuse to form connections. It has a weird range, from a club-like setting to a jazz jamming session. The connections formed are of utmost importance.
That's why everybody needs to be careful of their appearance on this day. And that is the reason why even the biggest nerd, Siya, has decided to dress up.
" I told you to go shopping. " Nelle taunted as she leaned on the frame of the door.
" I will find something just you wait !! " Siya hates being told that she is wrong.
" Well, we can still order a dress for you. " Aria affirmed. Siya is a scholarship student, but her roommates love spending money on her.
"It is not about the dress. " Siya signed " I don't want to dress flashy. "
" Don't tell me you want to look quirky. "
" I want to, but the good kind of quirky. "
" There is no good quirky. "
" You get what I am trying to say. "
" I know, I just want to bother you. "
Nelle loves having useless talks with Siya.
Giving up, Siya picked up a dress. An eye-catching dress with delicate embroidery and bright hues, almost as if it was embedded with stained glasses. Not too tight and not too loose. It was the most that Siya could ask for at the moment.
3 hours before the event begins, everybody is dressed up and guessing who will be coming to the Serenity cultural party this year.
The night is about to begin.
