Chapter 130 - The Lies

Mark watched the two black shadows fade into the distance, his breath catching slightly as he stood still. Their car's bright headlights briefly lit up the night before it vanished down the street, leaving behind only the faint sound of exhaust in the crisp evening air.

"Your Highness, should we leave now?" The bodyguard asked, disturbing the stillness around them with a quiet, wary voice.

Mark turned on his heel without replying, focusing on the incident.

The gentle rustle of his clothes was almost noticeable in the silence as he strode toward the sleek black automobile's open rear passenger door.

Constantly on watch, the bodyguard slammed the door shut with a soft thud and settled himself into the front passenger seat.

"Come on!" Leaning back against the soft leather seat and closing his eyes, Mark gave an order in a forceful but tired tone.

The soothing calm that surrounded him took the place of the outer world.
