Sarah looked thoughtfully at the board, her mind already starting to plan
"Well, whatever it is, I'm gonna ace it" she said, her competitive spirit flaring up once again
Kenta rolled his eyes at her confidence
"You say that now, but you don't even know what it entails" he said, his tone a mix of amusement and skepticism
Sarah and Kenta entered the coliseum, their steps echoing loudly against the stone floor. The inside was even more crowded than the registration area, filled with people watching the matches already underway.
Sarah's eyes flickered around, taking in the scene, her heart thumping in anticipation.
Kenta, on the other hand, remained calm and collected, his cool demeanor masking any excitement he might have felt. He was focused on assessing the competition, studying the other participants with his keen eyes
As the duo made their way through the throngs of people, they were suddenly approached by a burly tournament organizer, who was holding a notebook and a pen.
"Hey, you two! Are you here to sign up?" the organizer asked, his voice booming over the noise of the crowd
"Yep, we're here to compete" Sarah replied instantly, her eyes practically sparkling with excitement
The organizer looked at them closely, sizing them up
"You two look young, are you really confident you have what it takes to compete in this tournament?" he asked, his tone gruff
Sarah puffed out her chest, a defiant look in her eyes
"Of course we do! We're tough as nails" she said, her competitive spirit flaring up at the slight challenge in the organizer's tone
The organizer looked somewhat amused by her fiery attitude, and then turned his attention to Kenta
"And what about you, quiet guy? You're not as feisty as your friend here" he said, his tone somewhat mocking
Kenta, who had been quietly observing the situation, gave the organizer a cool stare
"I can handle myself" he said simply, his voice betraying no emotion
The organizer chuckled at his response, seemingly satisfied with his answer
"Alright, I'll take your word for it" he said, writing their names down in his notebook, "I suppose we'll see how you both perform in the tournament then"
Sarah, who was practically vibrating with excitement, couldn't contain her eagerness
"When do we start the tournament? I'm ready to kick some serious butt!" she said, clenching her fists in anticipation
The organizer chuckled again, somewhat amused by her enthusiasm
"Hold your horses, young lady. The tournament will start in a little while. You have some time to prepare and rest before the battles begin"
Sarah looked somewhat disappointed, but tried to hide it
"But I'm already prepared!" she protested, clearly eager to get started
The organizer shook his head, a hint of amusement in his eyes
"Patience, my young friend. The tournament isn't a piece of cake. You'll need your energy for the battles ahead"
Sarah looked like she wanted to protest some more, but Kenta placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder
"He's right, you know" he said, his voice calm "You need to conserve your energy if you want to do well in the tournament"
Sarah grudgingly nodded, realizing the wisdom in his words
"Yeah, I guess you're right" she said, her enthusiasm slightly dampened by the necessity of patience
The organizer chuckled again, somewhat entertained by their banter
"Good, that's more like it. Listen to your friend here, he seems to have a level head" he said, gesturing to Kenta
Sarah and Kenta stood just outside the coliseum, taking a moment to breathe the cool, evening air and mentally prepare for the upcoming tournament.
Sarah was pacing back and forth, her energy still buzzing in her veins, while Kenta leaned against a nearby wall, his eyes closed and his breathing slow and steady.
Sarah, who was scanning the area, suddenly noticed a group of people, who appeared to be registering for the tournament. However, there was something off about them, their presence making her feel cautious.
She nudged Kenta, whispering to him.
"Hey, take a look at those guys. Something's fishy about them"
Kenta, who had been observing the surroundings as well, followed her gaze, and immediately his expression turned serious.
"You're right. They don't seem like ordinary participants" he said quietly, his eyes narrowing as he studied the group intently
Sarah and Kenta stood in a small waiting area, along with several other participants. There was a palpable tension in the air, as the reality of the tournament dawned on them.
Sarah's heart was beating rapidly in her chest, her hands clenching and unclenching at her sides. She glanced at Kenta, trying to gauge his reaction, but his face betrayed no emotion.
As suddenly, a loud voice echoed through the room
"Attention all competitors! The tournament is about to begin. Please make your way to the arena, it's all Versus All!"
Sarah's heart skipped a beat at the announcement, the adrenaline pumping through her veins. She looked at Kenta, excitement and anticipation in her eyes
"Well, here we go" Kenta said, his voice still calm and composed. He glanced at Sarah, noticing her excitement, and for a brief moment, a small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth
Sarah, practically bristling with energy, gave him a wide grin
"Are you ready, Kenta? We're gonna rock this tournament, and get those awesome rewards!" she said, her competitive spirit blazing in her eyes
Kenta simply nodded, his usual cool demeanor still in place
"I'm always ready" he replied simply, his gaze scanning the room, taking in the other competitors
