"Forget it. How is Chichi, the boys and the girl?"
The pastor grew more perplexed. Who was this stranger that knew him and his family? What was his mission? The stranger sure didn't look like a person that needed spiritual growth or moral counselling. "Who are you?" He asked in a tone that was more of an interrogation than a question.
"Forgive my manners, I am..." He hesitated and leaned forward. "You know what, just think of me as the bearer of Lucifer's
Message." He smiled wickedly.
"I still don't get you. What do you want?"
The handsome visitor stood up, paced about for few seconds in his superior gait and stopped in front of one of the pictures he had seen earlier, giving it a close scrutiny. The picture was of Pastor Brown Ade praying for a new born baby he held during a christening ceremony. The pastor had a microphone held to his mouth by another man because his two hands were holding the baby.
The man stared at the picture for a while, leaving the pastor's question hanging in the air. Then he chuckled.
"Humans, unworthy creatures born to die"
"What do you…"
"You have been accused, pastor!" The visitor said ,maintaining his gaze on the picture.
"Accused?"
The man left the picture alone now and walked toward the pastor. He took the bottle of water on the pastor's table. "I'm damn thirsty. You see, this is one of the reasons I hate assuming a human body. There are lots of troubles that come with it. Anyway, I can't help it. I'll have to maintain this frame until my mission is completed" he looked at the pastor directly in the face, raised the bottle of water, and asked; "can I?"
"Go on," the pastor replied. "But, what do you mean by me being accused?"
The man grinned at him.
"Pastor Brown, I'm sure you know of the first miracle the Son of Man performed in the scriptures. I mean, it's one of the basic things they teach you at the seminary"
"Yes"
"John 2:7-8. Unlike the Son of Man, I'm turning this to whiskey."
The pastor was marveled as he watched the colourless water change to a brownish colour.
"There we are," the visitor said with satisfaction and sipped. "Now, where were we?"
