As I stepped outside my room, still uncertain of the age to which I had regressed, I heard my mother calling me from my sister's room. Everything became clear as soon as I walked in.
I saw my sister sitting on the bed while a priest stood nearby, and my mother tended to her needs. I had regressed to the day after my celestial emergence. Memories of that day flooded back. The curse of greater power had rendered my sister blind on the day of her celestial emergence. The next day, the high priest was contacted to see how she was doing and to make sure everything else was going well.
Before I could enter the room, I heard the priest remark, "She has been cursed, and I don't have the power to cure her. However, as stated in her status window, the first ability is Starforce vision (mana sense) for the blind person."
After pausing for a moment, he said, "The system itself grants abilities to those who are disabled. As the saying goes, Nature pays for what it takes."
My mother's gaze darted to the doorway when she noticed me. "Go eat your lunch, it's 5:30 pm and you still haven't had it, and then take the ring to Uncle Kaewon to have it made into a Level 3 mana enhancer ring of the same size."
"Oh if it's not the luck boy Dajit who got Gemini, you will definitely reach great heights with your power and i hope you will remember it," the priest said, turning to face me with a large smile.
I wanted to respond, but I felt like my thoughts were drifting into regrets over never having been there to defend anybody. So, I disregarded it, and hurriedly made my way to the kitchen to finish my meal. I hadn't had excellent food in years after becoming become an assassin, so the cuisine tasted like bliss
I finished my meal, picked up the ring, and headed down the well-traveled but now unfamiliar route to Uncle Kaewon's house. Our neighborhood blacksmith, Uncle Kaewon, was well-known to my father. His home was only one km (0.62 miles) from ours, and on occasion, visitors from other towns would come to purchase his goods.
The odd aura emanating from him became more palpable as I continued to walk; it was practically beckoning to me. On the ground, long shadows began to form as the sun began to set, reflecting the tragedies from my past that continued to haunt me.
I knocked on his door when I got there, and Gramps was there, his smile spreading across his face. "Well, if it isn't my favorite troublemaker."
While meandering about the workshop, like I used to do whenever I was a kid, I saw a secret chamber. When I opened it, I discovered a variety of expertly made weaponry. My pulse raced as flashbacks to my previous existence flooded back. These were high-end assassin tools, similar to Vice Leader Raven's from the Society of Shadows. But even so, I questioned, "Grampa, what are these weapons for?" while putting on a front of ignorance.
"Well, that weaponry belongs to one of my clients. And as for the ring, bring your sister in tomorrow afternoon, and I'll have it ready."
Before I could say anything further, "If you want to learn how to make them, I can teach you."
I recalled that at around the same period prior to my relapse, he had asked me the same question. I had denied having any interest in it back then since I wanted to be a magician like our nation's monarch. The proposition lingered, both alluring and intimidating. With a nod, "Grampa, thank you. I would really want to give that a try."
Grandpa Kaewon was unquestionably a level 7 blacksmith with this degree of weapon-making proficiency; there were less than fifty blacksmiths in the entire nation of that caliber. It would be foolish to turn off the opportunity to pick up even a little portion of his skill set.
