Chapter 149 - Chapter 149

Angel Yitian was stunned by Angel Leng's words.

"Sis, I was just joking around—how did this turn into a matchmaking session?"

"Leng-jie, if I'm not mistaken, Des Xing Zhi Qiang is the deputy to the Power of the Galaxy, right? Are you really going to trade me off for his sake? Is that fair?" Angel Yitian, although momentarily stunned, quickly recovered. She walked over to Angel Leng and began scrutinizing her, her gaze conveying one clear message: "You care more about romance than about us."

"Des Xing Zhi Qiang? He's quite a catch. You should consider it," Kaisa commented, watching the girls playfully banter. It made her feel younger, and she actually thought Leng's suggestion wasn't bad.

"Your Majesty…" Yitian, who had been teasing Leng, now called out to Kaisa in a coy tone.

"Hehe, no need to be shy. If you also have a male god you fancy, you can go ahead and protect him," Kaisa said, looking at the little angels with a twinge of sentiment. Having faced darkness in the past, she now especially wanted to give these girls a bright future.

Kaisa's words carried weight; the previously chattering little angels all fell silent, their faces turning red.

...

At Devil's Castle, Morgana paced back and forth in the command hall, a finger to her ear.

"Karl, is there really no way to kill that wretch Zhang Zheng?"

Morgana asked Karl on the other end in a loud voice. She was furious—after being ridiculed by Zhang Zheng and Kaisa, Morgana had never felt so humiliated in her life.

"Liang Bing, for now, there's really no way. Although the Big Clock has analyzed his atomic structure, our current technology can't do anything to him. Plus, he doesn't even have super genes, so the Godslayer weapons won't work either."

"As for the Void Engine, hehe… given the energy in Zhang Zheng's body, redefining it wouldn't be much easier than altering a universal rule."

Karl's voice was calm, but internally, he was far from composed. He could swear that he had never encountered anyone like Zhang Zheng in his entire life. Without super genes, yet possessing nearly infinite energy within his body.

"Shit! Then what? Are we just supposed to do nothing about him?" Morgana asked, not ready to give up.

"Well, for now, there really isn't much we can do. Unlike Solar Flare, his energy is within his body, not drawn from a star. So even if we cut off the energy, it wouldn't affect him."

Karl frowned instinctively at Morgana's outburst, but he quickly composed himself again.

"Fine, let's get back to discussing Kaisa then."

"I can control the Solar Flare here, but you'll need to use the Big Clock to support me. We'll blast Kaisa directly, then you can scatter her divine atoms across the universe."

"Although it won't kill her, it will take at least a few billion years for her divine body to reassemble."

Morgana was throwing everything she had into dealing with Kaisa.

"Yeah, that could work. And the Emerald Star only has about 10,000 years left, so Rena's genes could trigger its detonation ahead of schedule."

Karl also had his plan, but he didn't want to get involved directly.

"Liang Bing, I need you to distract Kaisa. That way, I can teleport her near the Emerald Star."

"Damn it, alright. But what about Zhang Zheng, that wretch? What if he gets involved?"

Morgana didn't want a direct confrontation with Kaisa, but she dreaded Zhang Zheng even more. Kaisa at least had some principles due to her just order, but Zhang Zheng? Morgana had never seen any sign of principles in him.

"He cares about Earth, so let the Gluttonous invade Earth at the same time. That should keep him from interfering, right?" Karl asked tentatively.

Morgana chuckled bitterly when she thought of what Zhang Zheng had said to her before—"He cares about Earth?" She almost wanted to tell Karl he was overthinking it.

"That guy doesn't really care about Earth, Karl. You need to figure out a way to either lure Zhang Zheng off Earth or draw Kaisa away. Otherwise, given his relationship with the angels, it won't be easy for us to succeed."

Morgana sighed. Despite her previous clashes with Zhang Zheng, she had to admit he was formidable. Although her power had been greatly limited without her demon wings, Zhang Zheng had never really gone all out against her. In their three encounters, he used three different abilities, and after the first time, she had been thoroughly outmatched.

"Wretch," Morgana cursed under her breath, her expression growing even more ferocious.

"Alright, Liang Bing. I'll think of something," Karl replied. He hadn't expected Zhang Zheng not to care about Earth, and it left him momentarily stunned. But Karl also had his own cards to play—he just wasn't eager to use them.

"Good, then. Oh, and hurry up with the transfer of my demon wings."

"Understood."

...

Back at Zhang Zheng's house.

Ever since Yan returned to her room, Zhang Zheng felt as though time was crawling by. Finally, evening came, and after Zhixin went to her room, Zhang Zheng quickly made his way to Yan's door.

"Hehe, Zhang Zheng, you're in quite a hurry, aren't you!" Yan teased as she saw Zhang Zheng at her door, but she didn't mind; she simply walked past him as if he wasn't there.

"Yan, what are you doing? It's already dark," Zhang Zheng grabbed her arm, asking with a hint of urgency.

Yan gave him a sideways glance, slightly annoyed.

"Let go, I'm going to take a bath."

"Hehe, why don't we bathe together then!" Zhang Zheng shamelessly suggested, unfazed by Yan's annoyed look.

"Ah!" Before Yan could respond, Zhang Zheng scooped her up and carried her toward the bathroom.

Yan didn't resist, wrapping her arms around Zhang Zheng's neck, her face blushing as she buried her head in his chest. Zhang Zheng could feel the heat emanating from her face, and his heart raced.

He carried Yan into the bathroom, set her down, and then turned to close the door. When he looked back at her, Yan's face was as red as a tomato. Although Yan was experienced, she was still a girl, and while they had spent several nights together, Zhang Zheng had never actually done anything too out of line—mostly just some light touching. But now, they were about to bathe together, and Yan was clearly embarrassed.

Seeing her like this, Zhang Zheng hesitated and decided not to push her further. Instead, he left the bathroom.

"Yan, tonight you're mine. You can't escape," Zhang Zheng declared as he collapsed onto Yan's bed. As he thought back to what had just happened, he gave himself a light slap on the cheek. "Why did I have to pretend to be a gentleman?"

No sooner had Zhang Zheng exited the bathroom than he regretted it—missing out on a shared bath was such a loss.

As Zhang Zheng wallowed in regret, the bedroom door opened, and Yan stepped in. She looked at Zhang Zheng lying on her bed, and this time she didn't shy away. They had been together long enough, and Zhang Zheng had always been respectful, never pushing her when Leng and Lingxi were around. But now, with Leng and Lingxi gone, Yan didn't want to keep Zhang Zheng waiting any longer.

Zhang Zheng got up from the bed and gently lifted Yan onto it. Feeling her soft, fragrant body, Zhang Zheng felt like he was in a dream.

"Yan," he murmured, as he moved closer to her.
