Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Through Angel Yan's confirmation, Zhang Zheng's identity was verified.

Zhi Xin's gaze toward Zhang Zheng was no longer as guarded.

"If possible, could we have a sparring match first, beautiful Miss Zhi Xin?" Zhang Zheng asked the little angel before him.

Angel Zhi Xin, the Sacred Right Wing, Fire God of War, though young, is one of the rare strong beings in the universe. Zhang Zheng naturally did not want to miss this opportunity. He was on a tight schedule and had little time to search for opponents, so meeting one who was challenging was a rare chance.

Zhi Xin looked at the man before her with a hint of speechlessness. As one of the most beautiful beings in the universe, angels were supposed to be admired by all the male beings in the universe. She wondered why he wanted to fight upon their first meeting. Did he think she wasn't beautiful enough? For the first time, Zhi Xin doubted her appearance.

But as a proud angel, Zhi Xin would not refuse a challenge from a pre-civilization being, even if this challenger did not seem ordinary.

"Hehe... Interesting Earthling, Angel Zhi Xin accepts your challenge." Zhi Xin drew out the Flame Sword, pointing its tip directly at Zhang Zheng.

"Thank you. Then I'll make my move. Be careful." Zhang Zheng said, and without hesitation, the Storm War Axe appeared in his right hand.

Golden energy surged around Zhang Zheng as he charged straight at Angel Zhi Xin.

Zhi Xin was no novice; as the Sacred Right Wing, her combat experience was beyond what Zhang Zheng could match. Seeing Zhang Zheng charging directly, she showed no sign of panic. She raised the Flame Sword to block the Storm War Axe while simultaneously lifting her right foot to kick Zhang Zheng in the chest.

Zhang Zheng hadn't anticipated this move, but his powerful reflexes allowed him to quickly raise his left hand to block the forceful kick.

With the initial attack thwarted, the two entered a stalemate.

Sensing the strength of the Storm War Axe, Zhi Xin realized that she did not have an advantage in physical power. If the standoff continued, she would be at a disadvantage.

To change tactics, Zhi Xin ignited the Flame Sword with orange flames, gathering powerful energy towards it.

Seeing the flames on the Flame Sword, Zhang Zheng felt a pang of fear. This wasn't the legendary "Heaven's Blade Judgment," was it? Although he wouldn't die from it, it would still be very painful.

Thinking of this, he didn't hold back. Blue lightning crackled on the Storm War Axe.

Fire and lightning, two violent energies, collided through their weapons, resulting in a massive explosion.

Both Zhang Zheng and Angel Zhi Xin were thrown back by the sudden explosion.

Angel Zhi Xin, a bit disheveled, flapped her wings and steadied herself. Seeing Zhang Zheng still being tossed backward, Zhi Xin couldn't help but laugh, her eyes crinkling into crescent shapes. Zhang Zheng looked utterly clumsy at this moment. This was his first battle in space, and without friction in the vacuum environment, Zhang Zheng's flying skills were unrefined. He couldn't stop himself from being thrown backward until he collided with a large asteroid, which created a large crater.

Although he had stopped, his clothes were in tatters.

Seeing the smiling Zhi Xin approaching him, Zhang Zheng quickly enveloped himself in energy.

"Pause, pause," Zhang Zheng called out to Angel Zhi Xin.

He needed to pause. After all, there had been historical tales of warriors fighting without armor. But now, Zhang Zheng was completely naked while facing an angelic opponent. It wasn't just a battle anymore; it was a scandalous display. If news of this spread to the Angel Nebula, it would be disastrous.

Zhi Xin was puzzled by Zhang Zheng's request.

"What's wrong? You haven't lost. The duel isn't over yet?" Zhi Xin asked, confused. Despite Zhang Zheng's disheveled appearance and the humor in it, he wasn't actually injured.

As for Zhang Zheng's state of undress, Zhi Xin wasn't too concerned. Warriors often fought with their clothes burned off; it wasn't uncommon.

"Cough... My clothes got ruined in the battle. Since you're a girl, it's a bit inappropriate to fight like this. How about I change into another outfit first?" Zhang Zheng said awkwardly. The duel was his challenge, and yet he was requesting a pause before a clear winner was decided, which was quite embarrassing.

"Warriors shouldn't worry about such minor things during combat." Although Zhi Xin said that, she turned around and waited for Zhang Zheng to change his clothes.

While Zhi Xin considered it a minor issue, Zhang Zheng didn't see it that way. He wasn't a true warrior; he was a powerful ordinary person. If it weren't for the danger facing Earth, he would likely be working hard for his family and comfort.

Taking out a fresh set of clothes from the system space and changing into them, Zhang Zheng stopped thinking about the issue. Once things happen, they must be resolved.

"I'm not a warrior, nor do I want to be one."

"So, I don't understand the rules of battle. To me, it's impolite to stand before you naked, so I requested a pause," Zhang Zheng explained to Zhi Xin.

Hearing Zhang Zheng's explanation, Zhi Xin knew he had finished changing and turned back to face him. "Since you don't want to be a warrior, why do you seek out strong opponents to challenge?"

"You must know that when battles reach a certain intensity, even if you don't want to, things can sometimes spiral out of control and become dangerous."

"Sometimes, there is no choice."

"My hometown is under threat from aliens; the Tiamat fleet has surrounded Earth and may attack at any time. Although I can eliminate them, they are backed by a god. I can't act directly against them because if I do, that god will intervene. I'm not afraid of him, but if we both fight, my hometown will be doomed."

Angel Zhi Xin sympathized with Zhang Zheng. Angels had records of many weaker civilizations being invaded by powerful ones. However, hearing that Zhang Zheng could fight gods made her laugh. "…Hehe… Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh at you."

"How can you expect to defeat a god when you can't even defeat me?"

Zhang Zheng looked at the giggling Angel Zhi Xin, feeling frustrated.

He wanted to grab this little angel and give her a good scolding. Just because he had less battle experience didn't mean he was incapable of defeating her.

After Zhi Xin had her laugh, she noticed Zhang Zheng's serious expression and said, "I will report Earth's situation to Queen Kasha. The principles of justice and order do not permit powerful civilizations to oppress weaker ones. The angels will assist you."

"Thank you for your kindness, but I think our government might not allow it."

"Besides, Earth does have its own strength."

Thinking of Angel Yan, Zhang Zheng felt there was no need to hide anything and said, "Earth has its own armed forces, and the Xiongbing Squad, formed by the Super God Academy, will drive away the Tiamat. As for the god of death Karl behind them, I will deal with him personally."

Seeing Zhang Zheng's confidence, Zhi Xin asked curiously, "How do you plan to deal with Death God Karl?"

"Just because I am the sentinel with the power of a million stars, Earth's strongest guardian."

Zhang Zheng said with swagger.

As he spoke, a tremendous energy burst forth from Zhang Zheng, obliterating nearby asteroid fields into dust. Even distant asteroids were shattered by this immense force, with only the nearby Feresar being barely protected by Zhi Xin.
