Wildly Wind Valley, perpetually buffeted by fierce winds, is home to a small village—Wildly Wind Village. It stands alone amidst the gale-force winds of the valley, so remote that even wandering merchants rarely pass through.
Largas sighed as he sat on a log on a hillside, his face downcast.
Largas: "Hmph... The wind's as strong as ever today."
Shinna: "Hey! Largas, what are you doing sitting there?"
A girl with blonde hair and green eyes shouted at Largas, who was lost in thought.
Largas: "Oh, it's you, Shinna."
Seeing Shinna wave at him, Largas jumped off the log and rushed over, nearly making Shinna stumble.
Shinna: "Come on, Largas! Today's your 14th birthday, and you're just sitting around?"
Shinna scolded Largas, but he seemed indifferent, his face unchanged. As they walked and talked, they noticed children gathering at the church for the magic awakening ceremony.
Shinna: "Hey, Largas, when's your awakening ceremony?"
Largas: "Hmm... I'm not sure. Maybe in two weeks?"
Largas responded vaguely, not remembering the exact date.
Shinna: "Ugh, Largas, seriously? Didn't Dad tell you?"
While they chatted, they saw an old man wandering about, muttering to himself.
Old Man: "A disaster is creeping closer. This village will be consumed by the flames of the gods' wrath."
The old man repeated his ominous words, but no one paid him any mind, thinking he might be senile. Only Largas felt a twinge of unease.
Largas: (What's with that old man? Is he senile or does he know something?)
Largas: (I'll have to find a chance to ask him later.)
Largas: (I hope nothing happens.)
Shinna: "Largas!"
Shinna raised her voice, noticing Largas's silence.
Largas: "Huh! What is it?"
Startled, Largas turned his attention back to Shinna.
Shinna: "You were spaced out for a moment there. What's up?"
Largas: "Oh, sorry. What were you saying?"
Shinna: "Never mind. I'm going ahead."
Shinna said as she ran off towards the house, leaving Largas behind.
Largas: "Hey! Shinna, wait up!"
Largas chased after Shinna.
When they reached home, their mother was preparing a birthday feast for Largas. They both offered to help.
Shinna: "Mom, is there anything I can do to help?"
Shinna asked as she approached their mother.
Mother: "Then help me peel these onions. Largas, you too."
Largas: "Me too? Can I skip it?"
Mother: "If you don't help, you don't get to eat."
Largas: "Alright..."
The three of them worked together to prepare the meal until evening, when their father returned from his shift at the village gate.
Father: "Largas! I've got a gift for you."
Their father approached the dining table with a wrapped gift in a paper bag.
Largas: "Thanks, Dad."
The family enjoyed a celebratory dinner together.
Father: "Come on, Largas, open your present!"
Largas unwrapped the gift to find a locket with a family portrait from his mother, a scarf knitted by Shinna, and a steel sword from his father.
Largas: "Wow! Thank you so much!"
Largas: (Today has been a really happy day. I wish every day could be this joyful.)
After the birthday celebration, Largas went outside to sit on a chair in front of the house.
Father: "Largas."
Seeing Largas outside, their father walked over.
Largas: "Yes, Dad? What's up?"
Father: "About your awakening ceremony, it's in two weeks."
Largas: "Okay, Dad."
Father: "Well, I'm going to bed now."
Largas: "Goodnight, Dad."
After saying goodnight to his father, Largas sat lost in thought, reflecting on the old man's warning.
Largas: (I hope the days ahead remain peaceful.)
The following morning, Largas woke with an uneasy feeling. He decided to explore the village and encountered something new.
Largas: "Shinna, let's go explore the hillside today."
Shinna: "Sure! I'm curious too."
They climbed the hillside and discovered a glowing blue flower growing in a place they had never seen before. The flower emitted a sweet fragrance and a warm aura.
Largas: "This flower... It's like the light from my awakening ceremony."
Shinna: "Yes! It's beautiful."
Largas and Shinna decided to collect the flower and bring it back to the village to show everyone.
When they returned, the villagers were amazed by the glowing blue flower. They saw it as a sign of hope and positive change for Wildly Wind Village.
That night, however, a storm formed around the village. Heavy rain fell, and thunder roared through the sky. The villagers were frightened and hurried to their homes, fearing what was to come.
