As they finally stood before the bridge of Solandris, Thane let out a sigh of disbelief, a wide grin was spreading across his face.
"I still can't believe we made it back."
His voice was almost reverent.
"...And with no disturbances on the road, too."
Kaelen shot him a sidelong glance, raising an eyebrow.
"Weren't you the one constantly nagging and begging for Kali to transform so she could get us here faster?"
Thane scratched the back of his head, laughing awkwardly.
"Yeah, Yeah... whatever. I just wasn't myself with all that hunger and frustration piling up."
"Right..."
Kaelen replied, a hint of a smirk was tugging at his mouth. But truthfully, Thane's desire wasn't entirely unreasonable. They'd managed to cross dangerous grounds without Kali having to resort to her dragon form—a blessing in its own way.
He then narrowed his gaze, taking a closer look at the gate before them.
