Chapter 1 - Transmigration(1)

Yasuhiro rubbed his eyes as he awoke from his dream. The first rays of the sun lit up his crumpled face.

After getting out of bed, he started his coffee maker and began his morning exercises. Yasuhiro focused mostly on stretching his arms, neck, and spine—a necessity due to his sedentary lifestyle. The reason for this was his chosen profession: writing!

However, with each passing day of living on his own, Yasuhiro was realizing more and more that he wasn't quite ready for such responsibility. At the moment, his thoughts were preoccupied with just one thing: how to find enough money for rent by next Friday.

When Yasuhiro heard the sound of his divine beverage being ready, he had just finished his daily morning workout. Approaching the coffee machine, he took his cup of invigorating drink and took the first sip.

A satisfied smile spread across his face as all negative thoughts began to leave his mind. For Yasuhiro, drinking coffee was a form of meditation. Even the aroma could calm the writer's restless mind.

After finishing his cup, he placed it in the sink and, gazing out the window, sat down at his desk. His eyes fell on the story he needed to finish within a week-otherwise, he would end up on the streets. But despite this, he wasn't discouraged; in fact, he was even more motivated to complete it.

At that moment, Yasuhiro had nearly finished the first volume of his new story. The premise was quite simple: the main character, an ordinary farmer, miraculously defeats a dragon, which leads to the entire village worshiping and idolizing him.

— Ahh... I've been stuck on the first part of this story for two days now.

Taking another couple of sips, he began to shuffle through possible endings on his draft.

An hour later, the cup was completely empty, leaving only coffee stains on its sides. Shouichi himself lay face down on the wooden desk, surrounded by a pile of crumpled papers.

— Aahh... I'm so fed up. I'll go brew some more coffee.

He got up and grabbed his cup, but after just two steps, his heart stopped due to an overwhelming surge of caffeine and blood. An extraordinarily absurd death, he would have thought if he'd read such news somewhere. But now, this absurd fate had caught the writer himself off guard.

Yasuhiro opened his eyes and saw his lifeless body lying on the floor with a shattered cup. Bewildered, he tried to pinch himself, thinking it was all just a dream. But unfortunately, despite all his efforts, he didn't wake up.

— This can't be… It just can't be... Am I dead?

The writer's face was filled with horror as he spoke. Then, he felt his soul begin to dissolve into a blue mist. The sight terrified Shouichi even more. Although he wasn't particularly religious, those around him had constantly imposed the concepts of Heaven and Hell on him. The scenes he imagined in his mind—the thought of his soul being eternally trapped in Hell—would send shivers down the spine of even the most avid horror fan.

Lost in these thoughts, he didn't notice that his entire body had dissolved into the strange mist. He found himself in a dark space where the floor and walls resembled flowing water, tinted in dark colors. Despite this, he could clearly feel that he was standing on a flat, solid surface, as if everything around him was surrounded by invisible barriers imperceptible to the human eye. In front of him, sitting on a chair, was a white-haired girl dressed in a revealing, semi-nude outfit that accentuated her voluptuous figure. Yasuhiro couldn't help but immediately notice that the girl had a chest size of two or three cups.

Yasuhiro, awkwardly approaching the girl, asked.

— E-Excuse me? Did I end up in Heaven?

— Heaven? Pfft, no, not yet. You're currently in the Hall of Judgment, where it will be decided where your soul will wander next

he woman replied with a soft voice, a kind smile on her face. She snapped her fingers, and a thick book titled "Yasuhiro Shoichi" appeared in her hands. Yasuhiro tensed up noticeably, sweat dripping down his face as his eyes darted around nervously.

Now, let's see what sins you've accumulated

She said, opening the book in her hand.

— Hmm, what do we have here? Oh yes, you're quite the sinner. Sloth, gluttony, lust, and, of course, greed. It's been a while since we had someone like you. However, you do have some positive points-your writing has saved many lives. Your previous work about a hero with a terminal illness inspired many patients to fight for their lives. We can't send you to Heaven, but I think reincarnating you into another world would be a fitting option. What do you think?

— You… you want to send me to another world? Seriously?!

Yasuhiro's pupils widened in shock. The greatest dream of his life—to be transported to a medieval fantasy world—was coming true right before his eyes.

The girl adjusted her chest and pulled out a few papers from behind the table, detailing the conditions of his reincarnation. A pen appeared in Yasuhiro's hand, and without a second thought, he quickly signed all the papers.

— It's a pleasure doing business with you, Yasuhiro-san. Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself—my name is Agnis.

Smiling, the girl snapped her fingers again, and an endless array of doors-each a portal-appeared before Yasuhiro. The sight left him in awe.

— I see you're surprised. Each of these doors leads to one of the infinite realities that make up your three-dimensional world. Now, you just have to choose which universe you'll enter.

Finishing her explanation, Agnis smiled again. Then, standing up, she and Shoichi walked towards one of the doors. It was decorated in white tones with a golden handle. It immediately caught the writer's attention, and he turned to the girl and said.

— That one-I want to go through that door!"

Yasuhiro reached for the handle and, with a characteristic click, opened the door. Before his eyes appeared a world filled with beautiful green fields, numerous rivers, and lakes nestled among mountain ranges. Much of this world was covered in dense, dark forests, with the occasional kingdom and castle adorned with noble white and golden glows. The sight took his breath away, and without hesitation, he stepped into the new chapter of his life.

Looking down, he realized he was literally falling towards the ground, leaving a blazing trail behind him like a comet. In a few moments, he could clearly feel the solid earth beneath his feet.

A buzzing sound echoed in his head from the fall, and after getting up, Yasuhiro spoke with a mixture of excitement and confusion in his voice.

— This can't be... I really made it to an isekai!

— And now, Yasuhiro-san, you need to choose your class. It's simple-just snap your fingers and think about the selection screen.

Agnis's voice echoed in his mind after a few seconds of processing.

Realizing this, he snapped his fingers and imagined a holographic character selection screen like the ones he had seen in games, anime, and manga back on Earth.

A blue-tinted rectangle appeared before his eyes, offering five classes to choose from: Mage, Warrior, Ranger, Alchemist, Monk. His eyes quickly scanned each of the options before the girl's voice rang out in his head again.

— Mage - an expert in magic, this class gives the user access to any spell in this world, but their stats are extremely low compared to the others.

Warrior - a perfect melee fighter, a master of war and tactics. Even a mid-level Warrior's strikes can topple mountain peaks. Their weakness is the lack of versatility since they are completely incapable of casting spells.

Ranger - survival, that's the word that describes this class. Most people who want to become adventurers choose it for its ability to survive in harsh environments.

— Stop, stop, stop - I've already decided! Why are you going on so much? My choice is Mage!

Touching the "Mage" tab, a new holographic panel appeared before Yasuhiro, displaying the message:

Class Mage obtained, updating information…

After a few seconds, the text on the hologram changed.

Passive skill "Transmigrator's Privilege" activated, class "Mage" evolved, new class -"Writer"!

— Writer!?

— Writer!?
