Chereads / Limitless Writer System / Chapter 2 - Transmigration(2)

Chapter 2 - Transmigration(2)

– Writer!?

– Writer!?

They both exclaimed in unison, with some confusion in their voices. Fortunately, the confusion quickly passed as a character window appeared before them.

Looking at his stats, the young man scratched his neck and fell into thought.

"Hmm, right now my main attributes are Agility and Mana. But is it really wise to dump everything into Mana at my current level? It's likely that I don't have access to powerful spells that would require a lot of Mana."

A satisfied smile spread across his face. With a quick motion, he distributed the additional attribute points. Then, with evident pride on his face, Yasuhiro looked at his character window.

[Mana: 7]

Waving his hand, the young man closed the character window. He then struck a dramatic pose, extending his hand forward. Taking a deep breath, as if concentrating on his palm, he closed his eyes and shouted:

– FIREBALL!

Opening his eyes with anticipation, Yasuhiro, frozen in his dramatic pose, noticed no changes. The only thing that broke the awkward silence was a woman's laughter, echoing from every corner of space.

– AHAHAHA, are you serious? I understand that three-dimensional beings from your world couldn't use magic, but really? Did you think it was that simple?

Still chuckling occasionally, Agnis spoke with difficulty, sitting in her usual place in a world beyond the universe. Wiping tears from her eyes, she gradually steadied her breathing.

– You should at least read the descriptions of your own skills, or did you think magic was just "bang, boom, and done"?

Yasuhiro, lowering his eyes to the ground, nearly burning with embarrassment, muttered as he dropped his hand.

– Then maybe you could explain how to use magic in this world instead of laughing!

– Heh, alright, alright, but I have one condition.

– Fine, I agree, just get on with it.

– Get on your knees and beg me, hehe.

With a sly smile, Agnis materialized her body in the reality where Yasuhiro was currently located. Her face bore a bright, teasing grin, and she pointed down with her finger, hinting for him to fall at her feet and beg.

Shouichi's expression changed upon hearing this. With a grimace of disgust and disbelief, the young man immediately shouted:

– YOU SICK BITCH! Go to hell with such offers!

– Well then, I guess you'll have to figure out how magic works in this world on your own.

She spoke, her smug grin widening. She was curious just how low this man was willing to go.

– You think you can bribe me, you sick bitch?

– Yes.

– Damn it, you're right.

He said, falling to his knees before the girl, bowing his head to the ground. Folding his hands in prayer, he glanced at the girl's feet and said:

– Oh great goddess, may your grace descend upon me. May the light of your "eyes" bless my path. I beg you, grant your follower knowledge of the magic of this world.

– Aha, good boy. Alright, I'll tell you how magic works in this world. In this reality, every molecule is imbued with magic, which means that almost all beings instinctively understand the basics of controlling it. Also, because of this, all structures in this world are denser than in yours. For example, even this tree, since it was woven with mana mixed with other atoms, has a durability that your tungsten could envy.

– Get to the point, tell me how to start throwing fireballs left and right.

Hearing this, the girl unconsciously facepalmed.

"Oh my God, what an idiot."

– Alright, in order to cast even the most basic spell, a mage needs to know three things: the formula, the structure, and the incantation. Without this, you won't be able to cast a single spell in this world.

– Not a single one? S...seriously?

He said with disappointment in his voice, rising from the ground and looking at the girl's face.

– Yep, many mages spend entire decades studying or creating powerful spells.

– Decades...

Swallowing a lump in his throat, he fell to the ground, hearing how long his training might take. He even began to think that the class he chose was useless to him in this world.

Before Yasuhiro's eyes appeared a status window with the description of one of his skills open.

Miracle-Making (Rank A): A skill that allows the user to literally break free from the shackles of formulas and arcane knowledge, giving them the ability to perform miracles. A Writer class ability that allows the user to use magic without following the three basic rules. Now, to cast a spell, the Writer only needs to tap into their imagination and abstract thinking. To manifest the effect of the spell in the real world, the user must clearly imagine the effect of the spell and its consequences. Additionally, they must visualize abstract symbols that represent the spell.

After quickly skimming through the text, he felt euphoria fill every part of his body. The young man's pupils dilated, sparkling like stars in the night sky.

Jumping to his feet, he immediately looked at Agnis, then pointed his hand in her direction. Closing his eyes, he imagined a gust of wind lifting the girl's short dress, revealing her panties. At the same time, he visualized the swaying stalks in a wheat field caused by the wind.

When he opened his eyes, he saw the girl's dress being lifted by sudden gusts of wind, exposing her snow-white underwear.

"Heh heh heh, it works."

Lowering his hand, he decided to stop fooling around. Turning towards a tree, he decided to repeat his earlier trick. Planting one foot back, the young man extended his left hand forward. Grabbing his forearm with the other hand, he shouted:

– FIREBALL!

In his mind, Yasuhiro visualized a bright, flaming sphere forming in his hand. Then, he saw it speeding towards the tree and creating a fiery explosion. Simultaneously, he imagined a lighter's flame, a campfire, a soccer ball, and similar things.

Opening his eyes, Yasuhiro saw a gigantic sphere in his hand speeding towards the tree.

Boom!

With a loud sound, the sphere exploded, creating a storm of flames that engulfed everything around the tree. Unfortunately, the mage himself wasn't spared as the gusts of wind he had created earlier were now rushing in his direction.

Seeing this, Shouichi immediately bolted in the opposite direction. Hoping to find Agnis, who could help him, he realized that she had long since left this reality and returned to the world beyond the universe.

– What a bitch...

He said, running a few more meters. Then, extending his hand towards the tree, he visualized a massive sphere of water shooting from his hand. Meanwhile, he thought about the ocean and a hot bath, something he probably wouldn't see anytime soon.

The torrents of water quickly extinguished the flames created by Yasuhiro. With a smile on his face, he collapsed to the ground and, looking up at the sun, he mused:

"This is the best day of my life. I haven't had this much fun in probably ten years."

After resting a bit, the young man got to his feet. Taking a deep breath, he looked around. To the west, far from him, he saw a village in the distance. The only thing that stood out among the dense trees was a large church with golden heavenly arches.

"Well, that's where I'm headed."

With a slight smile, Shouichi began making his way towards the village. As he pushed through the forest, the Writer heard a strange sound. It seemed like something metallic had fallen to the ground.

Curious, Yasuhiro decided to investigate. He carefully headed in the direction of the sound. A few minutes later, the young man came upon a scene where a young girl lay on the ground, exhausted, while a group of 5-6 goblins steadily approached her.

Observing this, the young man's hand instinctively reached out in their direction. He immediately visualized a beam of pure energy shooting toward one of the goblins. Alongside the abstract thoughts in his head, memories from his past life flashed through his mind. Moments he wished to bury deep in his memory and forget forever.

Fragments of memories surfaced in his mind. Screams he would never forget, followed by bloodied bodies and faces frozen in agony.

Opening his eyes, he saw a beam of uncontrolled energy searing his hand, along with the bodies of the goblins caught in the attack.

– Aargh!

The goblins screamed, and then three of them rushed toward the Writer, each armed with poisonous spears made from the fang of a giant spider.

Without losing his composure, Shouichi immediately attempted to cast another spell. However, unfortunately, his last shot had drained all of his remaining mana. The issue was that if the Miracle skill was used by someone who couldn't precisely control their mind, the spell would become unstable and consume far more mana than intended.

Mages who used the standard spellcasting system didn't have this problem, as the magical formulas already had a fixed amount of mana consumption.

— Damn it!

Yasuhiro exclaimed with anxiety in his voice, barely dodging a spear thrown at him. He made a dash toward the girl, scooping her up onto his shoulder as he continued running towards the village without stopping. The adrenaline coursing through his veins numbed any sense of fatigue, which was why he managed to escape the furious mob of goblins. After about 15 minutes of running, Shouichi heard the faint voice of the girl.

— Why…?

She asked, exhausted, almost passing out on his shoulder.

— You just reminded me of someone close to me.

He replied with a heavy sigh, gradually slowing down. Meanwhile, scenes from that fateful day continued to replay in his mind…
