Perspective of the female lead
I thought I would die like this, but when I opened my eyes and sat up to see the familiar black room, I felt a sense of despair.
So, I didn't die after all.
When I tried to get out of bed, I found myself restrained, and looking down, I saw that my hands and feet were bound with iron chains.
I bit my lips and tried to pull the iron chains on my feet, but it was all in vain, the chains remained unharmed.
I gave up, lay back on the bed, and helplessly looked up at the sky. What can I do? I can't even decide my own life and death.
I wanted to cry but couldn't seem to manage it.
Snap.
It was the sound of the door opening, and I looked towards the door.
"You... you're awake." A petite girl carrying a tray walked in, giving me a sweet smile.
I didn't pay attention to her, but she still eagerly introduced herself, 'Hello, my name is Sara, I'm an Omega of the Chishui tribe. Which tribe are you from? I've never seen anyone as beautiful as you are before. Many people outside say you are the only female Alpha, will you be our Luna?'
Sara's eyes sparkled as she looked at me, but I couldn't understand a word of what she said, 'What is Luna?'
How can you not know this, did your elders not..." She suddenly stopped, swallowed, and then continued, "You're human.
I frowned and observed her; with delicate features that were not striking at first glance but still pleasant to look at, she didn't seem like another species, 'Aren't you human too?'
"Haha, of course I am. Miss, I have other things to attend to, please have your meal." Sara tried to change the subject, handed the tray to me, and stood beside me with her head down, not saying anything else.
I took a glance at the soft-looking sandwich and the warm milk, took a bite, and thought, why should I endure if it won't kill me. There was something wrong with what Sara just said, and there's no way I'm mistaken about Jack's eyes suddenly turning blue.
'You…' I was about to probe Sara's words after finishing the sandwich, but she turned and left with the plate without looking back, as if something was chasing her from behind.
Something is not right, very not right.
For the next few days, only the meal delivery person came in and out of this room. The food was delicious each time, but it wasn't Sara delivering it anymore; it was replaced by an older woman who didn't say a word to me from start to finish. Even when I sometimes deliberately didn't eat, she just calmly took the plate away.
The more they tried to cover up, the more it aroused my curiosity. Now, I want to know what they really are, including the weaknesses of Jack, who hasn't appeared for a long time, and I want to escape from here.
Staying in the room, the iron chains on my feet were unlocked but the door and windows of the room were sealed, I've forgotten how long it has been and I'm too lazy to remember, maybe a week, maybe half a month.
I began to gradually get used to this kind of life, even to the point of finding entertainment for myself, the servants did not treat me badly, and even if I said I wanted a certain magazine, they would find it for me.
I was like a canary being kept in a cage, isolated from the world, seemingly not much wrong, but I am a thinking human, not a puppet to be manipulated, I have never given up the idea of escaping, I'm just waiting for a chance, a chance that will not fail.
Click.
Since I came here, I have been sleeping all day, so that at night, my sleep is very light and any small sound can wake me up, hearing the sound of the room being opened, I abruptly opened my eyes and looked towards the door.
The dim moonlight fell upon a part of the doorframe, and by the moonlight, I saw a huge shadow at the door. It didn't resemble a human; it seemed to be shorter than the height of a person, and it appeared to have hair on its body, with its pale blue pupils locking eyes with mine.
"What is this?" I involuntarily whispered in surprise.
But soon, my instincts made me quickly close my eyes, daring not to open them again. However, my ears were still functioning, and I clearly heard "him" getting closer and closer.
"Tap, tap, tap." It was the sound of claws on the ground, a sound of an animal.
I didn't know what it intended to do, and with the shackles on my feet, I couldn't even evade, only praying for it to leave.
But it seemed that God had not heard my plea; it stopped by my bedside, motionless. From it, I smelled a strong odor of alcohol, which I truly disliked. Perhaps because of this, I couldn't help but retch to the side.
It's over.
Indeed, he had noticed my movements, and I could not avoid meeting his gaze. This time, I finally saw his full appearance—a massive gray wolf's head, a paw with long claws hovering near my face. His eyes were clear, lacking the wildness and ignorance of an animal, and his ears retained the shape of a human.
What kind of monster is this.
I hugged myself and shrank to the side, accidentally bumping my cheek against the sharp claws, which left a long gash.
"Hiss." I touched the wounded scar, and my palm was instantly soaked with sticky blood.
"Hey, are you okay?" The monster in front of me actually spoke.
"You're Jack." I gripped the sheet tightly, somewhat incredulous but still confident in my question.
It's not that I have good hearing, but Jack's voice is quite distinctive, like the low notes in a cello performance, even with some rasp it is easy to recognize.
The monster stood still for a moment, then the upright wolf transformed into a handsome man with his upper body naked.
"Really... are you a wolf or a person?" I pulled the blanket around myself, trying to move as far away from him as I could.
My teeth tightly bit down on my lower lip in tension, the scene of his forcing me was still vivid in my mind, and I didn't know whether I should be afraid of him as a person or as a wolf.
Jack suddenly let out a cold laugh as if he heard a funny joke, "Don't associate me with such an inferior creature; he can only be the food of our werewolves, and that can include you as well, the weak and despicable human."
When Jack said the last sentence, he suddenly pulled a corner of the blanket's edge, and my strength was no match for his; I couldn't even protect the blanket, let alone keep my balance, as Jack pulled me forward, and then he snatched the blanket completely and threw it behind him onto the floor.
Without the blanket's warmth, the cool night breeze, coupled with Jack's words, made me feel as if I had entered an ice cellar.
Werewolves? Monsters that eat people in fairy tales, how could they really exist. My worldview seemed to collapse all at once.
"Amelia... Stay close to me, or I'll eat you alive, drink your blood, and gnaw at your flesh bit by bit, making your life worse than death." Jack seemed to still be drunk, his words were slurred, but the threat was still despair-inducing.
"Why me." I don't think I have anything special that would make him go to such lengths to keep me captive. After all, no one would want to exchange money for me, right?
"Don't undervaluing yourself, you're quite beautiful, aren't you."
Is that all? I'm not quite convinced.
As expected, Jack quickly continued, "Although I think you're rather ordinary, unfortunately my wolf likes you, so I'll keep you as an extra pet. Don't even think about running away; you're to stay by my side as my plaything." He must have been drunk, talking incoherently, yet he stumbled over to embrace me as he spoke.
Hearing his words, my teeth were almost shattered by my own anger, but I couldn't do that; I need to find a way to save myself, and no matter what, I have to leave this place.
I obediently nestled in Jack's arms but turned my head away from the smell of alcohol on him.
Feeling Jack's head buried next to my neck, I knew my chance had come.
