As the day went on, Liu and Mei continued to explore and settle into their new home. Mei opened up the fridge and was surprised to find it cold inside. "Wow, this is amazing!" she exclaimed. "I've never seen anything like it!"
Liu chuckled and nodded in agreement. "I know, right? It's like magic!"
As the night wore on, they decided to relax and watch some television. They sat on the couch, munching on snacks and laughing together at their favorite shows. Mei eventually started to doze off, and Liu gently lifted her head onto his lap.
As he looked at her affectionately, he couldn't help but feel grateful for their new life together. He carefully carried her to the bed and tucked her in, making sure she was comfortable.
Then, he went to another room and settled in for the night, feeling happy and content. Little did they know, their new life as S-Rank Hunters was just beginning, and many exciting adventures awaited them.
The next morning, Mei woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. She stretched and yawned, then looked around the room, remembering where she was. She smiled, thinking about the previous day's events and how much her life had changed.
She got out of bed and went to find Liu, who was already up and about, making breakfast in the kitchen. "Good morning!" she said, giving him a hug.
"Good morning!" he replied, smiling. "Sleep well?"
Mei nodded, taking a seat at the table. "Yeah, I did. Thanks for taking care of me last night."
Liu smiled and handed her a plate of food. "Anytime, Mei. That's what partners are for."
As they ate and chatted, Mei couldn't help but feel grateful for their new life together. She knew that there would be challenges ahead, but with Liu by her side, she felt ready to face anything.
Jenkins walked into the kitchen, a smile on his face. "Ah, great to see you two enjoying your breakfast! How's everything going?"
Liu and Mei exchanged a glance, then nodded in unison. "It's going great, Jenkins!" Liu said. "We're loving our new place."
Jenkins chuckled. "Glad to hear that! I knew you two would settle in quickly. How's the tech treating you? Any questions or issues?"
Mei shook her head. "Nope, we're good! We've been playing around with the fridge and TV. It's all so cool!"
Jenkins laughed. "Well, I'm glad you're enjoying the perks of being S-Rank Hunters! You deserve it. By the way, I brought some information on your first mission."
Liu's eyes lit up. "Already? That's great!"
Jenkins nodded. "Yeah, we've got a situation that requires your...unique skills. I'll brief you on the details later. For now, just enjoy your breakfast and get settled in."
As Jenkins turned to leave, Mei called out, "Hey, Jenkins?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for everything. We really appreciate it."
Jenkins smiled and waved. "No problem, kiddo! That's what mentors are for. Now, enjoy your day and get ready for your first mission!"
Jenkins then took out his tablet and asks them an intriguing question.
"How old are you too?"
"I'm 23." Mei says with dignity.
"I'm 21." Liu says and Mei looked at him surprised. She was surprised as he acted more mature for his age.
Jenkins nodded, making a note on his tablet. "Alright, so Mei, you're 23, and Liu, you're 21, got it. Now, let's talk about your first mission. You two are going to clear a Dimension gate, and I have to warn you, it's an S-Rank gate."
Liu and Mei exchanged a serious glance. "S-Rank?" Liu repeated. "That sounds tough."
Jenkins nodded gravely. "It is. The gate will only close when you defeat the boss of the gate. And let me tell you, this boss is no joke. You'll need to work together and use all your skills to take it down."
Mei frowned, her brow furrowed in concern. "What's the boss's level?"
Jenkins hesitated before answering. "It's...an S-Rank boss. One of the toughest out there."
Liu and Mei looked at each other, then back at Jenkins. They knew they had to do this. They were S-Rank Hunters now, and it was time to prove themselves.
"Alright, we're ready," Liu said, his voice firm.
Mei nodded in agreement. "We'll do it."
Jenkins smiled, a hint of pride in his eyes. "I knew you two had what it takes. Now, let's get down to business and plan your strategy."
Jenkins nodded, his expression serious. "Alright, let's talk equipment. What have you two got in terms of weapons and armor?"
Mei thought for a moment before responding. "I don't really use weapons, per se. I have elemental abilities - fire, water, earth, air. I can summon and manipulate them to fight."
Jenkins' eyes widened in surprise. "Elemental abilities? That's impressive! I didn't know you had that kind of power, Mei."
Liu smiled, pulling out his sword. "I've got this trusty sword. It's served me well so far."
Jenkins took the sword, examining it carefully. "Nice blade. Enchanted, I presume?"
Liu nodded. "Yeah, it is."
Jenkins handed the sword back to Liu. "Good, good. And what about armor? Do you two have any protective gear?"
Mei shook her head. "No, we don't really have any armor. But we're pretty agile, so we can dodge attacks easily."
Jenkins nodded thoughtfully. "Alright, well, we'll have to get you two suited up with some proper gear. But for now, let's focus on your abilities. Liu, can you show me what you can do with that sword of yours?"
Liu nodded, demonstrating his sword skills with a few swift swings.
Jenkins watched intently, his eyes narrowing. "Not bad, not bad at all. And Mei, can you show me your elemental abilities?"
Mei nodded, summoning a small flame on her palm. Jenkins watched in awe as she manipulated the fire with ease.
"Wow, that's impressive!" Jenkins exclaimed. "You two are quite the team!"
But Liu didn't mention his ability to manipulate Chaos, keeping it a secret for now.
Mei got up from the table, stretching her arms. "I'm going to freshen up, excuse me!"
As she walked away, Jenkins turned to Liu with a curious expression. "So, Liu, can I ask you something?"
Liu raised an eyebrow. "What's up?"
Jenkins leaned in, his voice lowering. "Are you and Mei...dating?"
Liu chuckled, shaking his head. "No, no, we're just friends. We've known each other for a while, that's all."
Jenkins looked skeptical. "Just friends, huh? You two seem pretty close."
Liu shrugged. "We are close, but it's not like that. We're just partners in this Hunter thing."
Jenkins nodded, but his eyes still held a hint of doubt. "Alright, if you say so. I just want to make sure you two are comfortable with each other."
Mei returned, her hair freshly washed and her face refreshed. "What did I miss?"
Jenkins smiled. "Just Liu and I having a chat. So, Mei, are you ready to head out and take on that Dimension gate?"
Mei grinned. "Bring it on!"
Jenkins pulled up in his car, and Liu and Mei hopped in. They drove to the Dimension gate, which looked like a shimmering portal in the middle of a large, open area.
"Alright, here we are," Jenkins said, turning off the engine. "This is the gate you two need to clear."
Liu and Mei exchanged a serious glance. They knew this was it – their first mission as S-Rank Hunters.
Jenkins turned to them, his expression grave. "Remember, this is an S-Rank gate. The enemies inside will be tough, and the boss is even tougher. You two are the only ones going in. You'll need to work together and use all your skills to make it out alive."
Mei nodded, her eyes flashing with determination. "We got this, Jenkins. Let's do it."
Liu grinned, his hand on the door handle. "Time to show what we're made of. Let's go, Mei."
Jenkins nodded, a small smile on his face. "Good luck, you two. I'll be waiting outside. Go get 'em!"
With that, Liu and Mei stepped out of the car and walked towards the gate, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
As they stepped through the gate, Liu and Mei found themselves in a vast, open landscape. The air was cool and crisp, and the sky above was a deep shade of indigo, twinkling with stars. The ground beneath their feet was soft and spongy, like moss, and it seemed to vibrate with energy.
"Whoa," Mei breathed, her eyes wide with wonder. "This place is incredible!"
Liu nodded, his gaze scanning the horizon. "It's amazing. I can feel the energy pulsing through the air."
As they looked around, they saw strange rock formations jutting out of the ground, their surfaces glowing with a soft, ethereal light. The air was filled with a gentle hum, like the buzzing of a thousand tiny wings.
"Look," Mei said, pointing to a cluster of glowing plants in the distance. "Those plants are beautiful!"
Liu grinned. "Let's go check them out."
As they walked towards the plants, they noticed that the ground beneath their feet was becoming increasingly uneven. The mossy surface gave way to jagged rocks and steep cliffs, and the air grew thick with an otherworldly energy.
"Mei, be careful," Liu said, his voice low and serious. "I can feel the energy building up. We don't know what kind of dangers are lurking here."
Mei nod
ded, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I'm ready, Liu. Let's do this!"
And with that, they pressed on, into the unknown heart of the Dimension gate.
