Chapter 10 - Lord Anpetik urvakun

She had been struck by invisible lightning eighteen times for lying. Each strike felt like a searing bolt of pain, coursing through her body and leaving her gasping for breath. The air around her crackled with unseen energy, a constant reminder of the consequences of deceit. Now, it was time for the final question, and then she would be finished. The question was strange; it had nothing to do with the previous ones.

"If you had the chance, would you be willing to help free me, my fellow confrere?" There was no box or multiple choices underneath the book. This meant it was a written statement, so she had to write her answer. How do I answer this question correctly? Who is "me"? she pondered. Then pause, something struck in her mind. Free!? She had a wild guess for who me was, but she debated inwardly that her theory could not be true. In order to confirm her theory she decided to test her theory.

"Mrs. Walta, I need your help would you please come in," Mahir spoke loudly and clearly.

After two minutes A short elderly lady walked in, "Yes, dear Mahir. What do you need my help with?"

Mahir nodded then spoke, "The last question on the test. I don't understand how to answer this question."

Mrs. Walta had a puzzled look on her face. She walked up to Mahir and looked at Mahir's book. When she looked at it she saw nothing. Was this one of Mahir's little antics she wondered.

" Ha-ha, I had almost forgotten that you were such a naughty little child with all your little antics. You are still messing with poor old me I thought you were all mature and serious Ms. Mahir." She looked at Mahir with the same expression she had used since Mahir was young.

"Mrs. Walta I need you to explain your previous statement," Mahir was also confused now. That is why she spoke in a serious formal tone therefore Mrs. Walta would give a reason and not just chatter about another subject.

"Oh, I thought it was funny how you were trying to pull the same old pranks on me again. Trying to make me believe something was there when it never was. Now you want me to believe there is a question written on this blank page. By the way, now this looks like you're finished. I remember taking this test when I was your age. I kept chanting Lord Anpetik Urvakan's name all night, hoping I would match with someone. Our lord, generous as always, granted my wish, and I matched with a Gal named Elara. She had the most captivating green eyes and a laugh that could light up the darkest room. We were inseparable, sharing dreams and secrets under the starlit sky.

The day we parted ways was one filled with rain. Elara sacrificed her life to protect a young man who was about to be hit by a bus. She was always so selfless, always putting others before herself. Her loss left a void in my heart that has never truly healed. " She stopped speaking when she realized Mahir was ignoring her. Mahir's passiveness reminded her of her grandkids, always on their phones. So, she decided to take her leave.

I am worried for these children's future! They lack common sympathy Mrs. Walta sighed inwardly.

Today Mahir didn't ignore her purposefully she was so shocked that she couldn't utter out a single word. If she had looked at Mahir's hands she would have seen, they were trembling. If she had looked Mahir' s forehead she would have seen sweat trembling down. She was afraid to think, for a being of a higher dimension was now gazing at her.

In this world all the species are classified in a dimension based on how complex they are. The more complex you are the more powerful you are. Overall and on average humanity is classified as 3.5-dimensional level beings. 1 level beings are not able to use magic and are very simple to look at and understand. Such as rocks, the air, and any abiotic beings. On the second dimensional scale are beings such as plants, diseases and non-magical animals. Though they are living beings they lack the many qualities to be considered third dimensional beings. The third is where beings can now use magic in total there are considered to be nine dimensions you can be classified in. A true mage is considered to be at the fourth dimensional level. An average spirit is also considered to be a fourth level dimensional being. This was a lot like the food chain. Alone from his gaze she could feel he was getting impatient and waiting for an answer.

Mahir did not wish to die today she picked up her quill and wrote never, absolutely not. As soon as she finished writing the unbearable gaze vanished. She was too afraid to heave a sigh of relief.

Hah, The lord should be pleased with this response and trust me to keep myself restrained.

She was finally done after five hours and now it was four o'clock. She closed the book and thought about how she was a way better person than she originally thought. Only 450 questions were asked about the crimes Mahir had committed and how. This was a truly reflecting moment for her. She texted her mom that she was done on her M-G phone.

I guess I get to keep this book she reasoned in her mind. Her book changed to silver. Mahir was quite excited to open the first page and see whose name was written on it. As soon as you are finished the book switch books with the person with whom you have the most answers in common.

Mahir went outside and saw that their blue sun was setting in the yellow sky and it was of course really windy since Solia was a floating city as people like to call it. It did not float on air like the palace of Auburndad it floated on the water. Her eyes reflecting the sun made it seem gloomy.

Mahir wasn't envious of the filthy rich people who ruled over Solia. She also wasn't envious of the pirates who controlled Solia and the stupid governors and the merchants. She is envious of her father. Her father who knows nothing and nothing knows him. Only Mahir is envious of his peace of mind, and his freedom. She desires freedom.

Mahir took out her phone and texted her mom, "Mama, I am finally done, I will be in the Ambia clothing store next door."

The Ambia clothing store was a quaint, charming boutique nestled in the heart of Solia. Its exterior was adorned with intricate carvings of celestial motifs, reflecting the store's name, which meant "dawn" in an ancient tongue. The large windows displayed elegant mannequins dressed in the latest fashions, each outfit carefully curated to reflect the unique blend of tradition and modernity that Solia was known for.

She put the phone in her pocket and went entered the street where the store was. She had to buy a blue and yellow dress. This dress was for the upcoming Eternal Blue Festival next month. This was to represent the yellow sky and the beautiful blue sun. This festival took place on October 1st of the year. Ever since she was a child, she had come here to this store to buy a dress. In any other store in Solia, it would be hard to find a dress that was modest enough.

As she entered a familiar voice rang out, "Hello, Mahir!".

She turned around and saw the cashier waving. She was the store owner's daughter who was mentally "retarded". Mahir hated using the term retarded on her because even that would not be enough to describe how big of a hooligan she was.

" Stepha…" Mahir said with gritted teeth.

Mahir reacted quickly and walked out of the store. Mahir was tired since visiting the lord's garden and didn't want to deal with her. She had decided to purchase the dress online. Mahir took out her phone and saw her mom text that she would not be able to pick her up and just take the metro. Mahir's mother recommended she let the chauffeur pick her up, but Mahir like always refused.

She did not ask why because she already knew it had something to do with her younger brother. So, she just left her on read. She instead texted Adrien and Kai to ask them to meet up at the old barn on a nearby Island. She told them to come at 7:30. She wanted to talk about what happened today. The beauty of the sunset forever reminded her of a poem in the Gods scripture. The rest of the kids in her Saturday school had disagreed. She then beat them till they agreed.
