Everyone in this house is a liar she thought as she watched her aunt say to her mom, "No, I cannot take her. I am busy." She was not busy. She has been watching videos on Vidtream for the past two hours in her room.
She knew this because she had set up hidden cameras with microphones in each room in the eight different houses Mahir owns. Having set up cameras helped to not get deceived by those retards. The simple fact is she hates her like most of her extended family. Mahir also hates them. She believes they are parasites that mooch off her money.
This time, she was glad she hated her because it meant she didn't have to take the FYOH, the Find Your Other Half test. Most people in her small religion were excited about taking the test, which was a significant ritual, much like a sweet sixteen. When you turned 16, you were given a book containing 1,000 to 4,000 questions, each one dependent on your previous answer. Mahir thought no person was worth that effort. If you matched with someone, the originally black book would turn silver, and the person you matched with would come to the garden for a small celebration. However, matching was rare, as at least 85% of the answers needed to be similar.
"I guess I will have to take her," Her mama said as she rubbed her temple. Mahir's mom started pacing towards Mahir's room and her aunt went back to her room.
She immediately rushed to switch the tabs of her G-Max computer to an incredibly famous cartoon she used to watch as a kid. Her mama knocked on the door as always.
"Mahir dear," her mama said with a cheeky voice.
"What is it?" She replied.
"Can I come in?" She asked.
"No, I am changing" Mahir responded. When Mahir said this, it meant to leave me alone.
"Oh well that's too bad," Her mom pretended to be disappointed.
"What's too bad?" She had now piqued Mahir's interest.
"I brought cold strawberry milk just for you. Or should I give it to Alrick instead?" her mother teased, knowing it would make Mahir jealous. As expected, her plan worked. Mahir opened the door and let her in, taking the strawberry milk from her. She smiled and sat back in her chair.
Damn it!! That's my only weakness…
Mahir's mother had a tattoo near her eye. The tattoo was a pink heart tattoo near her almond-shaped eyes.
"You have to take the FYBFF test?" she said.
"Listen to me mama, it is a bad idea, trust me," She continued giving excuses. In the end, her mama did not listen.
"Your grandpa found his best friend here in Solia after he immigrated because of the test. Her younger sister also found her best friend this way. There is no harm in trying. I don't want to hear any more excuses," her mother retorted, her voice tinged with frustration and determination.
I took crazy measures to make sure I never have to take that stupid test.
Oh no… that was a blasphemous thought. I should do it as an apology to my lord for the previous remark.
She doesn't need any person's help especially if the person is like her is what Mahir believed. She gave up once she saw her mama's resolve.
"Go, get ready Mahir. Don't you dare dress like a hoodlum today," her mama said as she was looking for the car keys.
"Of course, I would not dare dress like a "hoodlum" when visiting the temple of our dear almighty lord" She replied in a cheeky voice. This test was created by him. Her family is a firm believer in Anpetik Urvakan.
Mahir isn't.
People close to her seem to think that she is a pious believer of lord Anpetik Urvakan. She
Since it was a bluebird day, she decided to dress in blue. He instructed them to wear a veil covering everything below their necks. Their lord was quite fond of flowers, so she chose a headband adorned with small, dusty blue flowers shaped like roses, with dark green leaves. It complemented her whimsical blue gown, which featured full-length flutter sleeves. She also put on blue gloves, as even showing hands was not permissible unless they were "family." In this context, "family" was not meant literally.
Her mom prepared an offering of food, though she always thought it was a waste. "How is the lord going to eat when he's trapped inside a matrix and chained to the wall?" she mumbled as she walked to the car.
Her mother smiled and said, "Let's go".
Her mom pressed a button and put the password in, and the car started driving in auto mode. She tried to relax hoping nobody else besides her could see the results otherwise she will be in huge trouble. The Lord said that it is disrespectful to let someone drive you to his house. The lord loved the effort.
She let her mind wander which in turn made her think about horrible thoughts of what could happen to her if anyone knew about the things she has done. Her mother played the song Weather by Mondi. Then she calmed her mind and thought that the temple vowed to never share this information. She felt stupid just thinking about being so nervous. She cannot lie during the test unless she wants to be smitten with lightning, but no one is going to want or need the information anyway.
