Chapter 1 - "Masters of Shadows"

"Huff huff, you bastards! Is this how you repay me for everything I've done for you?"

In an abandoned place amidst the ruins of a burning, collapsed building, as if it had been struck by a devastating explosion, a man sits, leaning against the shattered wall, clutching his blood-soaked stomach, while blood streams from his eye and mouth. He appears to be in his thirties, with black hair and gray eyes, his face marked by scars that speak of terrible battles and experiences. His name is Dragan—a name that sends shivers down the spines of those who know it, for he is known to be merciless and cold-blooded, possessing the cunning of a devil and the skill of a dragon. But even he never imagined that his death would come at the hands of those he spent his entire life uncovering their true intentions, risking his life countless times for them.

He was born into an organization known as the Masters of Shadows, an entity the world knows nothing about other than it being an assassination organization that only accepts missions they deem suitable. But Dragan knows much more, for he was one of them. They called him the Invictus. He never knew his father or mother, having been brought to the organization when he was only two years old. He never knew who brought him or why. He spent years searching for any clue about who he was, but to no avail, as if he had emerged from nothingness. He knew he was different from a young age, able to understand what others found difficult as if it were child's play. He could adapt to any situation and always had new ideas and a terrifying imagination. But there was an emptiness that always haunted him, no matter what he did or where he went. This void never left him. At first, he thought it might be a longing for his family, even though he couldn't remember anything about them. The only evidence of their existence was a necklace he had since birth, with his name engraved on it. He searched and searched to no avail.

Eventually, he decided to abandon the search and tried to fill that void with something else. So he focused on uncovering the mysteries of the organization that had adopted him. He fought and completed numerous missions, and as he began to get accustomed to the tasks given to him, he was assigned increasingly difficult ones, as if they were trying to test his limits. But he always emerged victorious. Over time, they began to notice him, seeing him as a useful tool they could exploit. They gave him promotions and rich rewards, but they didn't know they were dancing in the palm of his hand. While pretending to be loyal and fanatical to the organization, he was digging into its secrets, uncovering its power and background. The more he dug, the more astonished he became. On the surface, it appeared to be an assassin organization seeking to make money and expand its influence, but he discovered that was just a facade hiding its true power and influence. It was an immense organization with eyes and hands everywhere in the world, with no clear headquarters or place of origin, and no known leader. It had a hand in every major event, as if it was steering the world's movements from the shadows.

In the end, he managed to reach those who truly ruled the organization from the shadows. They were called the Seven Grandmasters. They had no known names or faces and were ranked in order of importance from one to seven. All he knew about them was that they were the greatest challenge he had ever faced in his life. But he finally managed to uncover the identity of one of them. What he didn't realize was that they had placed a tracking device in his body since he was a child. Despite always being cautious in his movements, the people responsible for monitoring the tracking devices within the organization discovered that he was observing someone during that time. When they found out, they sent the identity of the person he was watching to the Seven Grandmasters. They were shocked at first that someone from the organization had managed to uncover one of them, but then they agreed to kill him immediately.

Now, here he is, lying in his own blood, looking at the people around him, knowing the end is near. He had always known he would be killed by the organization if they discovered he knew too much about their secrets, but he never imagined the Seven Grandmasters themselves would come to kill him. It seems they were afraid he might divulge their secrets to whoever was sent to kill them. Or perhaps they assumed that anyone they sent wouldn't be sufficient, given his strength. Nevertheless, he is still in awe of the power of the Seven Grandmasters. In fact, up to now, only the Seventh had made a move, while the others remained as spectators. Even so, it only took a few blows for him to end up in his current state. He couldn't help but wonder if this was the weakest of them—how strong must the First be? As the Seventh moved towards him with calm steps, he felt his death approaching. But he couldn't die now; there was one thing he had to know before he left, or his life would be meaningless. As his memories flashed before him, he couldn't help but ask the person in front of him in a desperate tone,

"What is it? What made you do all of this? What is your real goal? What is the reason for creating such an evil organization?"
