"Shit!" Tyson hissed. He had completely forgotten that he had no car anymore since the stupid Chimera destroyed it and his phone was out of service, so he couldn't reach out to anyone. The only option he had was to go back and ask Zara for help. Since she was a Witch, she had to have some tricks to getting him home up her sleeves.
"Or?" A deep voice said in his head. "You could let me out and I could take you back home in less than five minutes. Why need a car when you have me?"
"Who are you exactly?" He asked. "I barely even know you."
"Yes, you do. You just don't remember."
"Then make me remember!!"
"I can't make you remember. I can only help you, the rest is up to your memory."
"I don't know much about Werewolves but can't you like.... I don't know." He groaned and dragged his palm down his face. "Show me your memories, we're connected so, that should work. Right?"
"It could but you would be at great risks and I can't take any risk."
"I'll be fine! I just need to remember. I need to remember my life, my other life. I need to know who I am, I need to understand."
"I cannot help you. I'm sorry Tyson. The memories will be too much for your brain to handle, I'm talking about years of memories. You need to understand my stand here. I really want you to remember our time together but I can't take such a huge risk."
"Because if anything happens to me, you'll be at risk too?"
His Wolf huffed. "Because I like you and I don't want to see you get hurt. I don't care about what happens to me. You matter more."
Tyson sighed. He suddenly felt bad for what he said. "I'm sorry. It's just so freaking hard not knowing anything. I'm tired of being in the dark."
"I totally understand. We're connected in all aspects so I feel what you feel and now, Skylar too."
"Skylar?"
"Yes, remember what Zara said, you're both connected. Whatever she feels, we feel."
"What's she feeling now?" He asked shyly.
"Happy, excited."
"I wonder why. Zara must really be cool to hang out with then. Unfortunately, I cannot relate."
His Wolf chuckled. "Witches hate Werewolves. They say we smell really bad."
"Skylar's a Werewolf." Tyson said dryly.
"Her Wolf's dormant. She has never once transformed so the scent isn't there. She still smells like a human and.... She's a woman. You're a man."
"Uh huh. Let's take a walk, as we do that, tell me all I need to know."
"What do you want to know?" His Wolf asked as Tyson began to walk.
"Let's start with your name and how we came to be.... You know... One."
"My name is Zane and we are the Alpha of the Wildclaw Guardians Pack."
"What kind of name is that?"
"What's wrong with that?"
"It sounds cringe."
"Well.... It was named by your great, great, great, great, great, great.... grandfather. The first Alpha was Wolfgang Heinrich Varon the first. He ruled the pack with an iron fist, still everyone loved him. He was feared by his enemies, no one dared make him angry for it spelt doom on them all. He was known as the strongest Werewolf and Alpha and no one has been able to take that title from him. From him, the Alpha title was passed down to his generations which now falls on you. You're a descendant of his and is now up to you to protect the pack with your life."
"He was German?"
"Yes but he settled here. Started a life of his own and started his own pack."
"How did he become a Werewolf?"
"He was born like that. At the age of eighteen, he found himself transforming into a beast. He didn't understand, there we no guidelines, nothing on how to react to such then he heard stories of others like him in this part of the world and moved here. He learnt from others, became the strongest Werewolf alive and decided to set up his own pack to help others like him. From there he grew, made allies from other packs. Protected his pack with his life and then he found his mate, an Omega who became his Luna. Together they mated and gave birth to a son who carried on the legacy. Unfortunately, he couldn't live up to the standard. Till now, everyone still hopes for Heinrich Varon to be reborn in one of his descendants. Someone just as strong and if possible, stronger than he ever was."
"I doubt that's ever going to happen." Tyson snorted.
"You'd be surprised. In a way, you're just like him."
"Yeah, right." Tyson scoffed.
"When you regain your memories, you'll understand."
Tyson sighed. "So what happens to the pack now that we're not there? What if they're in danger? I'm not there to protect them."
"Jakob is the acting Alpha and he's good at what he does."
"Who's Jakob?"
"Your best friend and Beta."
"Do you trust him?"
"With my life."
"And my family?"
"Your mom's dead, she died during child birth; while giving birth to you. Your Dad is retired and no longer involved in the affairs of the pack. Right now, he's just waiting for death to come knocking. He thinks he lost everything. First, his Luna and now, his son."
"What about my current Mom and Grandma? Who the fuck are they?!"
"Your grandma is your grandma as for your Mom, well....." Zane went silent.
"Go on. I'm all ears."
"She was hired by your grandma pending the time you regain your memory."
Tyson groaned and rubbed his temples. "All these sound so confusing."
"See, I told you, you won't be able to handle it. You need time to process everything."
"But we don't have time! If what Zara said is true then that Chimera is the first of many. I don't even know why it's after my life! I must have done something but I can't remember what!"
"As an Alpha, you will always have enemies. It's inevitable, especially if you're an Alpha of a pack with a great and deadly reputation."
"That's why I need to remember. My pack members are in danger. Jakob, all of them. I might not remember them but I still need to protect them. Like you said, that's what an Alpha does."
"You're right. You'll need Skylar, she'll be of great help."
"I know." He sighed. "How about you take me to the pack, to see things the way they are for myself."
"Too soon. What your pack needs now isn't an Alpha with amnesia. You'll be of no help. When the time is right, you shall return."
"I guess you're right."
"I am. Now, can we go? I'm tired of talking." Zane groaned. He really couldn't wait for Tyson to regain his memory, to remember how ruthless and fearless a pair they were.
Tyson nodded and Zane took the reins. After series of bone breaking and body expansion, Zane was standing where Tyson was. He shook himself and took off at a speed of lightening in excitement. He had missed it, the run, the feel of his paws on the ground, the feel of the wind against his furs, the fresh air, the speed. He had missed it all.

"I don't know, dead." Skylar shrugged and groaned.
"Dead?' Zara arched a brow.
"Yes, dead on the inside."
"And why is that?"
Skylar stared at Zara for a few seconds then shook her head. "I don't feel comfortable saying that to a five year old."
Zara rolled her eyes then transformed into a twenty four years old looking woman. "Better?"
"Much." Skylar nodded then sighed. "I thought Tyson was dead. There was no way anyone could have survived such an attack. I was devastated. He was everything to me, losing him was like losing myself. I couldn't go on and I couldn't keep staying in the city that reminded me so much of him. I needed distance. I thought I could cope but I couldn't."
"That is no excuse for cutting everyone off, especially me! I'm your best friend for a reason! I didn't freaking hear from you for two years! I thought YOU were dead. I was so freaking worried. My magic couldn't even find you. Did you think of how I would feel before running off to mourn for your dearly beloved. I could have been there for you but instead, you pushed me away. You pushed everyone away. People always believe you need to push everyone away when grieving but that's not right. That's when you need your friends the most. I might have hated Tyson because he stinked like a wet dog but he was my friend too, I fought by his side. I tried everything I could to protect him and I failed. Do you have any idea how that felt?! Being the cause of someone's death? Did that cross your mind? Huh? Skylar?"
"I'm sorry." Skylar whispered.
"Sorry doesn't cut it, Skylar. You also weren't there when I needed you the most. Just because I'm a Witch doesn't mean I don't have feelings. I'm basically human too, just like you are."
"Zara." She whispered. A second later, there was a loud booming explosion.
