"After her so-called death, I went to her room and found this." Angela raised her pendant higher, as if to ensure Zayden could see it perfectly. "It's just as magical as the water I told you about." A small smile tugged at her lips, and Zayden felt his heart flutter in response. "It glows purple at night and blue during the day." She finally let go of the necklace, and it fell gently against her dress. "It reminds me of her too much; I feel safe with it." She shrugged and turned her gaze away from him, staring out at the bright sky beyond the window.
Zayden watched her, captivated by her presence. "Should we go see the lake?"
Angela whipped her head around, her eyes widening before shifting into a teasing glimmer. He loved that spark of mischief in her gaze.
